"Stockholder" Company Database - [UC] Character Biographies (inRP) (FO) - Unione Corse - 03-17-2013

//This is intended to be a character-information thread for Unione Corse members ONLY. Non [UC] members must ask before posting.

It was a simple job for him, monotonous. But always done perfectly, in his own way. This was specified in his job contract; filing each folder and page in the correct cabinets while recording the numbers, paychecks, and bonuses.

He certainly had some benefits; there was peace and quiet, along with few support staff. It was a clean working environment aboard New Paris Conglomerate 'Libra'. All the typing and printing was done on the deck above him, each page going through the checking room before being sent down the mail chute for sorting in his domain.

At the beginning of his shift for the day, the bookkeeper took a sip from his plastic cup - a shot of coffee with a dash of something stronger - before opening the folder. He'd just pulled this file from one of the many cabinets, 31-8-O, of the Stockholder Documents, better known as the "Library".

Casimir Logarus
General

A few years prior to the Reunion, he joined the Corse under a pseudonym, and even today little of his past is known to others. Shortly after the Council broke through to Orkney, Casimir slipped into Bretonia where he lived for most of a year on Planet Cambridge. While monitoring Gallia, he made sure to study and become fluent in English.
When the LaBrise started to move on Orsini's Corse, Logarus came back to Gallia to side against them. But months after his return, Orsini disappeared. Casimir found himself tasked with leading the Unione Corse, and he defeated the LaBrise almost 6 months later.
Since then, the General has worked to rebuild the Corse to their former status. He prefers using diplomacy over force, and has successfully negotiated the Unione Corse into several favorable deals and contracts.
In his free time, Logarus collects novels from Earth, and now owns several dozen originals. The name he uses is drawn from some characters out of those books. He spends most of his time on stations and ships, not being one for living on planets.

Arek Maxim
Commandant

Born on Le Mans in 703 AGS, (787 AS) in the Maine system, his father was an engineer working for the Kingdom's Industry but also as a member of the Unione himself, smuggling bits and pieces of information and, from time to time, technology. Since his father retired from both occupations, Arek was introduced to the Unione contacts his father worked with and began his career as a simple smuggling contractor.
Since signing on as an official member of the Union Corse, Arek has risen through the ranks with his experience, utilizing his in-depth knowledge of the Gallic Economy and underground trade circuits to further increase the profits and coffers of the Union Corse. Promoted to Commandant early on despite a concentrated focus on the money-making aspect over combat skills, Arek has slowly lost himself to greed and money-managing as one of the most entrepreneurial money launderers in the organization, establishing the Division du Financement de l'Econnomie and ensuring a daily profit income.
Despite a high focus on his work with the Union Corse and low status as a commoner among the civilian populace, Arek is also happily married and spends his time-off either with his wife, or relaxing on Planet New Paris or Planet Marseille at private residences.
He also scoffs at some of the things he has witnessed from Sirians since the opening of the Languedoc Minefield, but reserves his judgement when there is a chance for a profitable conversation. He can often be found piloting a Vache train, his modified Taureau command-ship, or on board the UCN-Minerva Lucullus flagship.

Treiz d'Keur
Membre, Tribun

Born into the Union Corse on New Paris in 699 AGS, Triez followed the political nobility of the King's Royal Court with some interest, as well as the Union's coffers and accountants. He grew up learning diplomatic skills and management techniques, eventually being brought into the Union Corse Family Senate as a Tribun.
At an early age, Arek's father introduced the two and they became both friends and co-workers, Treiz eventually convincing Arek to join the Union as a full member after the La Brise war ended. Triez often spends his time aboard the UCN-Minerva, the Corse Flagship Lucullus liner, occasionally 'taking a break' by piloting Arek's private Taureau smuggling transport or going on hunting-trips to Planet Lyon.

Chloe Durand
Membre, Tribun

Chloe was born into a wealthy Corsican family in 713 AGS on Amiens, Picary. After inheriting her family's work in mid 736, she became a well known senateur among the Famille Senat, and was elected Tribun early on in her career. Despite her overall good work in the Senat, she is often tense and over-cautious about her decisions. Durand also has some reservations about the High Command; Maxim is too greedy, and Logarus works in a bizzare fashion. She does, of course, keep most of that to herself.
With Durand's skill set being that of a 'jack-of-all-trades', she was assigned to the scout ship UCN-Veilleur in the fall of 736.

Selan Jeros Maxim
Membre, Senateur

Wife of Arek Maxim, Selan began to work with Arek as an escort pilot before signing on as a full-time combat pilot. Her quick temper is often aimed at Arek's greed, but despite that she can be a reckless pilot.
Born on Planet Ameins in Picardy in 707 AGS, Selan's family comes from lesser nobility that actively support the Royal Navy's cause despite her lack of interest in the affairs of her nation, regardless of prompts from her mother to sign on with the Navy. Eventually she ran away with a sizeable chunk of her trust-funds, running into Arek while racing overzelous pilots in Provence.
She often flies various Noir and civilian shipline fighter craft, but occasionally takes command of the UCN-Armes Lourdes (Heavy Arms), an Asco gunboat redesigned as a sort of mobile home.

Novak Starsunder
Membre

A recent addition to the Corse, Novak moved to Gallia from Liberty with his parents to seek a better life. Unfortunately, while Gallia is a beautiful place, it was difficult for Novak to find employment. Gallic firms are so wary of outsiders, especially those from a House at war with Gallia, that Novak couldn't even find contract work as a freelancer.
In a letter to his brother, Aleph, he mentioned his difficulties, and got a little help. Being from IMG, Aleph had worked with some shippers from the Corse, so he directed Novak to them. Novak thus sought out the Corse. While they, too, were wary of outsiders, they gave him a chance, and accepted him as an Aspirant.
After several successful flights with the Corse, they deemed Novak worthy of being a full Membre of the Corse. Employment secured, Novak now continues to do the Corse's work, looking forward to a better future.

Lucius was born on raised on Montelimar. From a young age his dreams were rife of flying. He heard it all from his parents and older siblings. He even pretended everyday objects were ships and could be seen running through the bar and dealer rooms, making "space noises" and talking commands to...whatever was going on in his head. Rather than being ridiculed, he was loved for it. Seemed everyone shared that kind of dream but he was the one that wanted it most. So he claimed, anyway.

His early life was a popular one, though a few crowned him with the "idiot" throne. He didn't much care. His mid-teens saw him flying with his parents and siblings, dreams recognised and in full flight. Natural talent was the one to call it and he was talented in...every area possible, if you want to take it that way.

The missions got slowly higher profile and dangerous and they broke through the Gallic barrier into the Tau's. Being shown the sights of Tau-31, though cautious of the Navy that guarded it well. Lucius was awe-inspired. He'd repeat to his parents that one day he'd seize the mighty system. They laughed, it was not possible but nevertheless, the boy had dreams.

Then came the fateful day. The Hispanics had invaded Tau-23 and the IMG were in trouble. The treaty with the Colonials meant that the Corse had good firepower on their side. It was a victory...apart from one tragic loss. Lucius' brother, Cecil...he never made it. He did not eject fast enough when his ship was falling apart. From there, Lucius' life changed.

His parents were getting old and took early retirement from fighting. However, they wanted Lucius to carry on in his brothers name, to carry on fighting their cause. Lucius was never as happy since that day but he agreed, for his family's honour.

From then on, he flew more solo missions, perhaps grouping with 1 or 2...he took his fair share of damage but it did not phase him. He learnt every day. One day, he bumped into 2 members of the official flying aces of the Unione Corse. From that day, he found a new, secondary purpose...people who he could avenge his brother with and make his family proud. A "new family", if you like.

Grayson Matthews
Lieutenant

Grayson Matthews is the son of Lev and Sara Matthews, and the brother of David Matthews. Born aboard the Colonial Mover vessel "Lancaster" in 802 A.S., during the exodus from Crayter, Grayson was raised along with his brother David, in the Tau-44 sector for several years. Working with his father on cargo runs between the houses, he became very familiar with Sirius and, especially, the Miners Guild and the Outcasts.

In 818 A.S., the Gallic Royal Navy, in pursuit of Council forces, invaded and captured Tau-44 from the Colonial Republic. Grayson and David Matthews were forced to take command of the Lancaster, as their father had fallen ill, and used it to evacuate thousands of refugees from Planet Borneo. Arriving some time later in the Coronado system, both Grayson and David Matthews decided to sign up for the Colonial Military in order to better serve their country against the Royalists, but although David was accepted, Grayson was deemed "unfit for service" and was denied entry.

Two weeks after his failed entry to the Republic's Military, he was transporting a load of food to Sabah Shipyard when he came across a Unione Corse vessel. Learning some information about their organization, he decided to seek them out and ask to join their ranks, in the hopes of assisting factions like the Council, Maquis, Colonials, and Brigands band together to take down the Royals. For some reason, General Logarus saw something in the man that nobody else had, and he was brought in under trial as an Aspirant.

Before long, Matthews proved himself, racking up many bounty claims on Outcasts and their supporters alike, in the Tau systems. His prowess in the Jaguar Noir surprised both the Famille Senat and himself, as he had little to no combat experience prior. Before long, Matthews found himself a full-fledged Membre of the Unione Corse.

As time went on, Grayson made a name for himself, even being bountied by both the Junker's Congress and the Liberty Rogues. His mere presence in the Tau sector caused many smugglers to divert to other routes, for fear of being taxed or destroyed. In one specific scenario, Grayson was even out-numbered eight-to-one by a Maltese warship and numerous Junker snubcraft and gunboats. Shockingly, he was able to not only survive, but actually down six of the craft, including a Junker gunboat, all by himself.

Today, Grayson lives mostly in his cockpit, taking down smugglers and pirates with a pull of the trigger. He works along closely with his compatriot Narcisse, an independent Corsican with a knack for profit-making and explosions. However, even with all the credits and prestige rolling in, Grayson still wonders if he's making a difference.

Lisette Calvett
Membre

Lisette was born on Planet Marne in 710 A.G.S. Her parents were factory workers, constructing, and repairing vessels during the war. Well, at least until the planet was occupied by the Council. The factory was blown up by an orbital bombardment, which took the life of Lisetteā€™s father. Soon, she had to help her mother out. At first, by doing the work around the house, but as years have passed, Lisette find herself flying a freighter, accepting whatever work she got. This is where Lisette's story begins.

Growing up in a swiftly changing environment had its effect on her. She changed sides, to see which one would suit her better. Apparently, none. Changing sides was enjoyable. Helping out both was the most profitable. Space became her home. She still sent most of the money home, but she could afford her own freighter by that time. Her career started as a mere freelancer but of course, her actions slowly lead her to meet the Unione Corse. It felt like home for her already. An organization that needs her. One that she can trust, and can be loyal to.
This style suits her best. Flying an agile vessel, transporting small quantities of goods, causing some trouble, but fixing it right away.
