So have you guys ever had like a racing event (not including jump drive ships/ camera ships of course) in which ships begin from one side of the galactic map and are to get to somewhere the other side of the galactic map in as little time as possible? inRP, It could be a corporation/faction sponsored event, I dunno, just adds a little more flavor to the already exciting gameplay.

We had such before already. Just search the event section for it.
And of course - new racing events are always welcomed by the community.
