Jamez: the (short) story. - Jamez - 05-03-2006 Jamie 'Jamez' Rennie is the Admiral of the SF. But it wasn't always like that: He grew up with his father mostly (his mother had left for a well-paid job in Kusari and can't visit much) in Liberty where at the age of 16, his application at the West Point Military academy was accepted. 2 years later he had completed his course at West Point and was now in the Liberty Navy Heavy Fighter Beta wing. After an Incident involving a rediculous amount of Xenos and a Liberty Cruiser patrol, the 2 Gunboats were destroyed, the Cruiser and another heavily damaged gunboat managed to limp its way to Norfolk Shipyard. But, there was a Gunboat still at the battle, shields failed and many sections of hull melted from repeated laser blasts, which its crew had escaped from and had been picked up by an LSF wing. The Beta wing went to take a peek at the wreckage from the battle to find the Liberty Gunboat still in one piece, with Life Support still functioning in the Bridge. After some heated discussion over the Beta wing comm channel, Jamez decided to go and see if the tub still worked, which it didnt. BUT after some TLC at an empty workshop at Norfolk Shipyard, it was flyable again. It didnt have any guns that worked, so vengeance turrets had to do for the time being. Jamez left the Liberty Navy with his Gunboat, the SkyShark, and headed to Bretonia, as he had heard the pay in the Bretonian Armed Forces was much better than in the Liberty Navy. The SF found him first, although, and after a couple of years found himself to be the Admiral of the SF. The SkyShark is now a prototype heavy gunboat with uprated armor plating and a new shield system. It is now the Flagship of the SF. |
