Going over 180 FPS - tothebonezone - 03-30-2013

I'll be honest, I really don't get how a high framerate would actually cause problems in-game, but.

I have a monster gaming rig, and apparently going over 180 FPS causes severe jittering to other people. I don't reduce my graphics or anything, it's all capped out. Is there anywhere I could find VSync to turn that on? Or any way I could cap my framerate?

Thanks in advance.

Your graf card's control application.

There's a program, called Dxtory. It's similar to Fraps, but you can cap your framerate in applications. I limit my fps to 120, leaving VSync off.

Much love, thanks Landers.

You may notice some mouse lag at 60 FPS however, to me the mouse feels a lot more sluggish and imprecise at 60 FPS. Just fix FPS to 120 or so, that should neither cause mouse lag nor jittering.

Well, use Dxtory and limit your FPS there.

Edit: I just saw Landers wrote it.
