Quote:Rheinlanders, my friends. That you are, but not in a pejorative sense! No, do not mistake me.
I oppose Kusari.
I would quickly point out that Kusari maintains less than positive relations with Rheinland. Despite the successful H-fuel embargo the two governments created against the House of Liberty, it does not seem that the two parties are on pleasant terms. In fact, it seems to me that Kusari is not an ally of Rheinland. But I hesitate to remark on this because I am opposed to Kusari, and some overzealous officials might mistake that as opposition to all Houses.
However, while Kusari is not an enemy to the good people of Rheinland at present time, she has full capability of becoming one. With diamonds mined in Rheinland space and used to acquire minerals from the Tau systems, the Kusari people are amassing a fleet - is it not clear from the repeated and increased reports of capital fleets spotted in her systems? Such an event, while of course threatening to the Blood Dragons, is also dangerous to the balance of power in Sirius itself. I ask you: What if Kusari gains the upper hand? What if the staunch Rheinland Military can no longer compete with the technology of Kusari? What if Bretonia can no longer compete?
The Blood Dragons are not an enemy to Rheinland. But not only this, the Blood Dragons also have leverage concerning the blood of all parties in Sirius - the fuel which propels our ships. Is it purely chance that we have kept secret our many access points into the GMG's key systems, most notably Sigma 13? Kusari provides H-fuel to Liberty and Rheinland, but this is by the GMG! And the GMG are not what they used to be, nor are the Dragons in a contrasting sense. While the Imperial Navy was routed in the system, the Blood Dragons could not possibly lose against the GMG.
I propose this question now: What if the Kusari government no longer had Rheinland diamonds? What if she could not acquire the minerals necessary to produce her warships? And what if her leverage over all others by the command of this fuel could be shaken?
Legitimately, you are imagining that I am proposing war, which you also believe impossible. But Rheinland has demonstrated time and time again that industry thrives on war! Scores of Rheinland companies benefit from a war waged - and Rheinland as a political entity benefits if this fuel monopoly is broken. War would indeed be impossible if Kusari had, say, another source of diamonds. However, the only sources are Rheinland and the Omegas. With a Rheinland blockade, and key use of Blood Dragon allies such as the Outcasts and Hessians in the Border Worlds, Kusari could not get her diamonds. Kusari could not manufacture her mining machinery. Kusari could not war.
This is what I truly propose. Break these chains. Join the Blood Dragons and the House of Bretonia in our noble effort to oust the Edo Shogunate. Decimate the GMG in a decisive war which will allow Rheinland to act unimpeded concerning the issue of fuel!
Our mentalities are far from disparate, you know. Great minds think alike.
