Disposal of Gallic Base - The Gallic Union - 04-05-2013

Bonjour all,
a rare opportunity to acquire a base within Gallia.

Since securing the deeds to the base the Kingdom has been evaluating the possible use for the Crown. After deliberation it has been decided that there is no pressing need for more crown property of this nature within the core systems. Thus the only use it may have is to help fill the treasury and it is now viewed as a saleable asset. If it does not go then it will be deconstructed for scrap value.

Consequently the following is being offered freehold for the modest sum of 150 million credits (negotiable) with all security access provided.

Waterloo, in Orleanais, is a shielded base constructed to core 2 status with storage capacity of 110 000 units, 2 defence platforms and a cloaking factory. Although it is only situated 18 K from nearest trade lane intersection/base and 35 K from system jump gate. Despite this in enjoys a secluded position and is not readily visible.

It will be clean and serviceable with basic repair materials and supplies for the crew.

It also has housed within some specialist containment fields 83 small to medium sized alien remains. The new owners will be required to take care of these in whatever way they see fit.

It comes with full permit here but any owners will have to follow standard regulations, see here and of course breaking of these will result in confiscation or destruction.

There will also be a covenant stating that it will remain within lawful Gallic hands in peretuity and will always be able to be inspected by Gallic Police and Naval Vessels.

Prospective buyers please provide details via this channel.

Bonjour mon liege,

I come to you today representing the Unione Corse, which of course you and many nobles will know as a respected and influential, if small, part of the King's economy and culture.
If His Majesty's forces wish to pass on this base, we would be willing to acquire it. 150 million credits as the cost of holding the confiscated base and the administration fees for transferring the ownership permit to us is a reasonable price.
Let us know if this is acceptable.

Regards,
Senateur Vincent Gardon

Bonjour John Molokai,

an interesting stance to take against a powerful group of people. However, you furnish very little in the way of hard information regarding your intentions.

For all we know you may just be a disgruntled employer or someone a bit short of medication. Either way please be a little forthcoming.

If making a play for this location what are you planning to use it for?
Who or what do you represent? That sort of thing may help, the King has strong feelings but has always been interested in a little spark initiative.

Bonjour,

This base disposal could not have come at a more fortuitous time! My employees and I at Constellation Cartography are currently seeking a headquarters, and I can think of no better place to found our organization. As you may or may not know, I was a solar engineering employee prior to the Tournus Exchange incident, so it should be easy enough to find me in your records.

Pending your approval, it would be our pleasure to meet the payment of 150 Million credits to secure this facility, and to discuss Constellation Cartography's official incorporation as a Gallic company.

Warmest Regards,
-Martin Vernier

Bonjour รก tous,

Although it would appear that I have been beaten to the chase by our esteemed government representative, it requires a response nonetheless.

Monsieur Molokai is most lucky that we are not at a normal auction, for any man would slap him across the face for his insults, a vagabond as claimed or the gentlemen that I am! I do not know what wrong has been committed to spawn such hatred, but it has produced a most biased slander against us. No claim of illegitimacy was ever made, we would not wish for anyone other than the Royals to sit upon the throne of Gallia.

Most of the Corse own or work within businesses throughout Gallia, on the planets or the stations around them. I myself own several hotels and the... amenities involved with them - one of which is frequented by many nobles of His Majesty - and my late brother was an esteemed merchant in the Provence system.

We have frequented the Border Worlds as have most of our Kingdom's corporations (with the notable exception of Solar Engineering recently), or would Monsieur Molokai prefer they be left to the Brigands and Junkers? Expanding our operations in the Core systems would be only of benefit to the King, at least as much as our critic. Where is le monsieur from, if I may enquire?

Regards,
Senateur Vincent Gardon

Bonjour and thank you for the interest shown.

Whilst the offer is appreciated, at present we have no information regarding your company or any deep details of intent.

There is also the matter of Senateur Vincent Gardon who has also offered the same price.

Monsieur Molokai, was very vocal and had a substantial offer on the table has however appeared to have "dropped out".

Bonjour once again,

If Monsieur Molokai has 'retracted his offer' if there was one in place, that is most unfortunate. However, bidding wars are much easier with fewer vocal opponents. The Corse are willing to enter such a match if it is require.

Senateur Vincent Gardon

Bonjour,

It is unsurprising that you have not heard of us before; we are a new organization, and have only recently incorporated on Planet Orleans. You can find a dossier on us here, if you wish to know more.

As for the offer from Senateur Gordon, I must say I am surprised to hear that the crown is even considering it. I had thought . . . Well, never mind that. My associates and I are willing to improve upon the crown's original asking price - say, 175,000,000 SC, to assist you in making the correct choice in this matter.

Warmest Regards,
-Martin Vernier
