Well, there is currently no official Gateway faction...and I'm sure Bowex could use the competition.

The above holds true, definitely. There is also currently a dearth of crucial factions like the Blood Dragons, Planetform, Synth Foods, et-cetera.
I voted "Pirate", but I now think I should have voted for a shipping organization. At very least, the roleplay might bring into existence more activity from the "rivals" of the corporation in question. (Planetform would bring Circle Gaians, Synth might make the LWB active again).

Ye... No. Sadly, those things take a little bit longer than 1 week frankly. Think anywhere between 1 to 3 months? Possible even longer.
Applying to become official however is another thing, that you surely could do within 1 week. However, without any faction information and such, tough chance.
