Mars One - VerbalArtist - 04-28-2013 What do you guys think about Mars One? If you haven't heard, a private space organization is asking for volunteers to start a colony on Mars and will never be able to return. They'll get their water from ice in the soil and energy from solar panels. Would you drop everything and voluntarily be banished to another planet? http://www.aljazeera.com/video/americas/2013/04/201342371648245168.html RE: Mars One - VerbalArtist - 04-28-2013 I'd also like to include that there is no wifi on Mars RE: Mars One - Anaximander - 04-28-2013 No... RE: Mars One - Switchback - 04-28-2013 Shouldn't this be in general discussion? Also, I plan on applying for Mars One. I don't care about not coming back, I would give anything to be one of the four selected. Pioneering space travel and colonization on another planet is a dream I have always had. Better be pretty certain, because theres no going back, and a lifetime is.... a lifetime. RE: Mars One - Thunderer - 04-29-2013 I've read it and I still didn't find what they will eat. Maybe a huuuge greenhouse is one of those things the robots will prepare before? RE: Mars One - Loken - 04-29-2013 Woosh. But, after everything, my odds of being one of the four chosen is less than 1%. @Thunderer Hydroponics and greenhouses. Edit: yea, can't apply, don't have 20/20 vision. RE: Mars One - VerbalArtist - 05-05-2013 Would they even let you bring a PC? I doubt it... What does your vision have to do with living on Mars? Not much to see anyway.
