Ship/ID balance - Tunicle - 05-18-2013

May be incorrect place but whilst reading AD's ID 4.87 thread a general question popped into my head.

Are some of the ID's too generous with the ship lines?

And I do not just mean some of the fighting ships but transports for example? Would police forces use such big ships or would they contract out? Similarly would miners? Why would a transport firm hire escorts if they can fly gunboats themselves? etc. etc.

Are ship usages reciprocated between the various faction types? Should they be?

If the wont is faction diversity and RP would more niche differentiation via flyable ships be useful?
