How are Zones of Influence decided? - Azan27 - 05-22-2013 I am wondering how a faction or ID's ZoI is determined. Is it set by the admins? Does the faction set it themselves? RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - Occam Razor - 05-22-2013 I think it depends on the RP of the official faction, so basically the faction decides it. RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - Anaximander - 05-22-2013 ZOI's are referred to on some ID's (and as such belong in the realm of rules), but is vaguely set (in-rp) by some factions where other factions don't make a big effort out of describing it. It's sort of a weird hybrid, something that's never really been brushed out. RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - kikatsu - 05-22-2013 I think a good rule of thumb that people go by now is everywhere your faction NPCs are plus one system RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - SMGSterlin - 05-22-2013 (05-22-2013, 08:29 PM)kikatsu Wrote: I think a good rule of thumb that people go by now is everywhere your faction NPCs are plus one systemThis. I'm not sure if that's the official admin/rule backed definition, but it's one of the most widely accepted ones. RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - AeternusDoleo - 05-22-2013 In principal, that's a good rule of thumb. There are exceptions of course - Zoners and BHG go everywhere, factions like the MND and BIS don't have NPCs... It is NOT decided by the factions themselves, but if a faction makes a valid case for wanting to extend their ZoI somewhere, it can be considered (along with the consequences thereof. IE: Red Hessians want Cambridge for piracy? Red Hessians now red to Bretonia lawfuls). RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - Hone - 05-22-2013 And of course you are proposing adding ZOIs to the IDs in 87, arnt you Aet? RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - AeternusDoleo - 05-22-2013 Yes. If it's clearly written on the IDs then noone can claim to be unsure if something is in their ZoI or not. The only people who'll actually need to check that are people that continuously seek out the fringes of where they should be according to their faction lore... It should be a nobrainer that the BPA doesn't hunt criminals in California, and that the Mollies don't pirate in New York. But -some- people require this to be written down. RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - NoMe - 05-23-2013 i ask myself the question if the rheinlander win the war vs liberty, Texas in under what zone? it's just an exemple RE: How are Zones of Influence decided? - Crackpunch - 05-23-2013 I'm guessing factions basically propose a ZoI, and the devs approve or restrict. |
