Ship weaknesses - Rabid_American - 06-29-2008

I have noticed some of the factions I am in have pointed out certain weaknesses in ships during RP..Is it true? do certain ships have sweet spots that make them Kerplode faster? Do targeting certain equipment TRULY give you an advantage?

If so..is there a list of some sort of what the weaknesses are? People seemed to know quite abit about it and I want to know if they are just good at RPing or if there is some way they find out the knowledge..

Sometimes, It's easier to blow of a zoner dessie's thruster than on a BH NC because (if Im not mistaken) the thruster is inside the model it self with on the ZD it's on top.

....it's easier to aim with at least.

They way FL is built, I don't think sweet spots can be integrated.

Once the shield goes down, targeting is effective, yes. But as far as hull weak spots go. There are non.

I use the targeting thing all the time, cause if you pay attention you will notice that the targeting reticle actually moves and when you fire missiles it will they will attempt to hit the system targeted.

The "weak spots" are on vanilla ships only, if you mean weak spots like "fire a nova into Osirises engine and it should die.".

Oh yea.
A nova on the osiris' tail is devastating. 2/3 of hull are gone with one shot.

The vanilla ships have more "parts", each with own hitbox. Modders have probs with making 1-piece hitboxes, not even more hitboxes for a single ship.

Thanks to the more parts, if a splash-damage torpedo hits more parts, the damage is multiplied. And Osiris has damn many parts in the engine section.

The fins on a Kusari Battleship, (maybe only the NPC versions now, I'm not sure) are very vulnerable...you blow them off, and the whole ship explodes.
