as with 100% of anything that has rules there are a list of consequences i would like to know if the discovery community has the same or is it based off of each offence and the mood of the admin administering such consequence for example some might have a set up like such:
first infraction: player warned
second infraction: player sanctioned
third infraction: BANHAMMER!!!!
obviously not to that extreme but is there such a thing for this community
Well, in your case, threatening to report for first time is 50,000,000 credits for first offense. The total value stripped from your ship was far less than that. I was being nice. Maybe I should just stick with the standard punishment next time....
a rigid model is never a good thing when handing down any type of disciplinary action. There are those who do things with a genuine intent to cause trouble and there are new players that make mistakes. They should never be treated the same. That's one reason a report has to be discussed my multiple admins before being processed.
We are aware that there is an impression that one admin just takes a report and does what seems right and depending on the mood of that admin, watch out. It just doesn't work that way however. We have even discussed in the past ways to make the process more transparent, but we held off for the sake of allowing the reporters to stay anonymous if that is their wish. It's all a give a take.
We're not perfect we make mistakes and we willingly admit when we do. The system is not perfect, but I do believe it's the best we are able to offer with what we have and I do think it works pretty well.
