Wood. Wood and leafs. That was everything even the most concentrated observer could recognize in that big forest. Trees, climbing up into heights of 200 meters and more denied every further view on the surface. Every tree seemed to be bigger than the one next to it, like they just were competitors in an endless fight for the sun light shining on the masses of tree crowns, raised like heads looking into the azure blue sky. Everywhere in the forest it was the same picture: raised heads looking into the azure blue sky. And the wood also seemed to be everywhere. There was actually no direction one could look into and find an end.
Well....not on the first view. Somewhere in this seemingly endless, subtropical paradise a clearing leaped out of the forest like a big black point on a white sheed of paper. Although there were no trees, it was everything but empty. Instead of wooden giants, structures of metal and cement soared into the sky. They were a contrast to the green area around them like nothing else could be, though some of the buildings looked a bit weird with their unusal forms, seemingly trying to fit into the wooden sourrounding. Now an observer would have wondered whether it was a wanted similarity or just random that masses of beings scurried around like oversized ants, all heading away from the biggest of the constructions. Something important seemed to be happening....something very important.
"***Mây Qua, this is K'ho Ata actual. How is it hanging, guys, are you ready? Anyway, launch in 3 Lá. Everything's ready, fuel is green and the package aboard is mounted. Then let's just hope everything will work this time..."
The clock was running as the last Lá -something that was about 1.3 minutes long- passed. Fuel pipes dispatched, a last vehicle drove away. And with just one blink of an eye it began. Huge flames hit against the ground. For some seconds that was the only thing that happened. Only after some time the massive vessel released itself from the big construction, heading for the sky. With every moment the fight against the gravity became easier, much faster than it would have been on Earth. The area around the Mây Qua became darker and darker, until the vessel broke through the wall of the sky, revealing the view into the open space.
Some course corrections. Pressing just one button, and most part of what looked like being one ship dispatched, falling back to the ground. Just a little, slight construct remained, gliding through the emptyness between the planets. Well, actually it was still on a stable orbit, but though. Another course correction. The Mây Qua was turning slowly, giving a view to everyone sitting in the cockpit not many had before.
"Breathtaking...."
Reviewed, commander Trô'la kept the feelings of the whole crew with just that one word. The trees, the steel, the cement, the ants. Everything was down there, except for them. They where up here, in what almost seemed to be a new, an own and an unknown world
"Okay my friends, we have a task to fulfill, so let's get going..."
An unknown amount of time later, an unknown amount of distance away
Unfortunately not everything went how it should. However that was possible, Trô'la and his crew were at a place they don't know, sourrounded by beings they don't know, wo they are, and especially what they are. Almost a bit scary. But they actually saved their lifes. So they can't be that bad...or can they?
Those and other thoughts shot through Trô'las head as the Mây Qua approached the unbelievable big construct. It looked impressive and somehow intimidating...just like the whole situation. But they were safe in there, for the moment...
Squished bigly ~Champ- Thanks, you're a champ. "What's the word for when it feels inside your heart that everything in the world is all right?"
