I can't remember the details of my family, but they must have been bad, because I ended up a slave. Yet they probably ended up as space dust. The slave trade in Liberty is harsh and extremely profitable, even with the lawful circles. I should know, I've seen it first hand. When I was aboard the Outcast ship Human Cash, we were intercepted by an LPI officer behind Manhattan. We thought salvation, but we lost 35 friends to the corrupted Liberty Law. I watched as specified fathers, brothers and best-friends piled into pods and were evacuated into space and zapped into their cargo hold.
I'll never forget that fateful day where the Rogues burst into our Manhattan home and held us at gunpoint. I was 15 and wondering how the great Liberty could let these criminals into the heart of the top House. They sized us up, I think I had a brother and a sister. Definitely a mother and father. They took my dad first, then they took my mum while she was kicking and screaming. They shot my siblings, I think. Then they got out a metal ruler, it was about a meter long, and slapped me on my back, my thighs, my arms and even my neck. I forced back the screams. They grabbed me by the arms and pulled me out into the darkness of the night.
I awoke on a ship. A pirate ship. I was alone and hidden under crates of food and necessities. I pushed my way to the top only to be met by a wooden crate, luckily there was a hole that I could see through. I forced myself upon it, peeking out into the grey cargo hold. I saw the man in his leather jacket, eyepatch and pale, scarred skin. He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed and staring at the opposite wall. I called out to him, but all that came out was a squeak. I was deprived of water. How long had it been?
I squinted and fell back on to the fishnet bag of goods. I thought of bursting the bag and eating their precious supplies. I closed my eyes as a man walked by my crate, his footsteps painfully loud. He pulled the top off of the crate, revealing my near to limp body. He looked at me, smirked and laughed before closing the lid again. Where was home? Where were my parents? I wish I could still remember.
