post two years I'm coming back to my preferred FL mod as Corsair ID so I'm really full of rust about rules of engagement... maybe...
BUT: with My Correo, OM Gamma, I was attacked (with a sort of... little RPing like "weapons loaded", but this is not the problem, AI don't like preamble at all... And I've got some really bad rp mistakes this time, I must admit) from an AI.
If I remember correctly, AI can't engage Transports and Freighters at all (Cannot attack transports and freighters, except in self-defense - and I haven't fire a shot at all because I remember this rule, and I was destroyed, eh eh); someone noted me, however, that the principal rule was: Can attack any ship in systems that do not contain a jumpgate
Only to clarify, confirm that jump gate rule is the most important?
In this case, I must apologize with this iron mind (as I naming AIs for joke) and I'll be happy to reduce his ship to dust, next time ;-)
If it was an AI indie (so with AI ID) then it was not allowed for him to attack you. AI ID may attack all ships in systems without jumpgates except Transports and Freighters. If it was an official AI (AI Consensus ID) then it was allowed, since the Consensus is at war with the Corsairs and may shoot all ships diplomatically hostile to them in systems without a Jumpgate.
"Common sense is the best distributed commodity in the world, for every man is convinced that he is well supplied with it." René Descartes
my knowledge of rules of engagement was totally rust, like a Pilgrim.
Thank you.
