' Wrote:The thing is: The reason your Navy and Police reps are going up is because you are klling their enemies, not because you are doing missions. Doing the mission already does only raise the rep of the faction you are doing the mission for. It's just that most missions involve killing ships, which has the side effect you speak of. You'd get the same result if you went out and found random Outcast NPCs to shoot, minus the boost to your IMG/IMG Guard reps (and the associated allies). (If I'm wrong about this, someone correct me, please.)
4. It would possibly be better to simply have 'reverse bribes' or something of the sort, where you could pay X credits and lower a Friendly (and only a Friendly) faction's reputation to a preset value, such as barely Hostile, Barely Not Hostile (Neutral), exactly middle of Neutral, or Barely Neutral (just below Friendly). Obviously this would have to affect the factions allies/enemies the same way regular bribes do, except in reverse.
So for example, Pay 1,000,000 credits and lower the LPI rep to the exact middle of Neutral, which would in turn lower the LN and LSF relations, and raise the Xenos, Outcasts etc. relations. Then you could do more missions against Outcasts, which would again raise LPI rep, but at least it'd be at a more reasonable value.
Though this too would require additional work, for not much gain. (Also note that this is not originally my idea, I have seen it in other threads.)
I knew I was killing their enemies, but on IMG missions. It doesn't make sense for Liberty to even know about that way out in Tau-37.
Reverse bribes would be fantastic, actually. If I could lower all those blasted reps with money instead of base-camping for NPCs, it wouldn't take nearly as long. But that's essentially me going to a Freeport and taking a criminal bribe.

Ever heard of failing missions to lower your unwanted rep, Kurasora? o.O Yes, it's a pain in the arse to have to fly across Sirius and back to get your rep fixed, but just do it one step at a time and it should be fine.

It's no faster, and no slower than fighting NPCs. People bug me when they see a miner Gunboat in California, or Kyushu, or Honshu, wherever I am.
Eh, whatever. If I keep working on it, it'll only take me about another weeks more to get guard rep.
BTW, I got OC Guard rep in two days, for my Outcast character.:P
