AMES -The researchers at the Dark Matter Observatory on Ames has verified a disturbing claim: The material of the dark matter cloud that enveloped Alberta has been trickling into Kepler through unstable jump holes between the two systems. This dark-matter siphon appears to be speeding up, dramatically expanding the volume of dark matter in Kepler. Scientists are scrambling to try and explain how this could have happened, let alone with so little notice.
Meanwhile Ageira has announced that due to the cost of operating in dark matter clouds, the company will be shutting down all maintenance for the jump gates and trade lanes of Kepler. The gates themselves are slated to be decommissioned to prevent any malfunctions as the gates deteriorate. Ageira PR Rep Natalie Riafsette references the company’s own foresight: “If Ageira hadn’t gone to the effort and cost of constructing a second lane connection through this unstable region of space, the connection between Liberty and Kusari would be severed for the foreseeable future.”
The councils of Ames and its satellite communities, who have experience producing the protective hull plating that Freeport 14 uses to survive its local conditions, expect to weather the storm. They have floated a bond to fund expansions of their thinner hulls, and entered into a Kishiro backed public-private partnership that will occupy many of the offices and cargo-sections currently utilized by Liberty-Kusari traffic in a Kishiro led dark matter research lab.
For your safety, the Kusari State Police and the Liberty Police Inc have issued joint travel notices for anyone entering the system: "Extreme caution ought be used near Dark Matter storms and without without proper clearance ought venture into the storm"
Early Warning System: Dark Matter Storm "Kepler System"
Ames Research Station has detected a Dark Matter Storm that is making its way to Kepler as we speak. We here at the Liberty Police, Inc. take your safety extremely serious and are providing you with tips to make sure you reach your destination in one piece. Whether its to Kusari or Liberty its highly encouraged you do not enter the system unless there is an emergency but if you must travel do not fly solo and always have someone with you. Incase of engine failure it always helps when there is someone else who can tow you out of harms way. Note that trade lanes will be shut down so if you don't think your ship can make the trip without the trade lanes please don't attempt it.
One Police Plaza will be a staging point for S.A.R. incase of an event where civilians are caught in the storm. Note that while LPI will be sending experienced Officers to help stranded travelers that we wont always be able to. The storm is unstable and risking more lives in the process is not always the best course of action. Heed the warning stated earlier, do not enter Kepler unless there is a emergency.
