One or two codename shields for freighters

very expensive, and very worth it. Very nice freighter shield. Provides very lovely protection against pirates or whatever else you might run into.
That's my idea for the freighter codename shield, I thought that since fighters could have some that boosted core (but sacrificed efficiency)
that maybe the freighters can have one that give different abilities
This shield has about 2k ish less capacity than the "heavy" freighter shields, such as the Barrier.
But the regen is significantly better, and it is equally resistant against ALL weapons types. At that point, the weapons used against it will just do listed shield damage.
And maybe even have a unique effect whenever it is impacted by weapons fire
I think this is a good starting point for balance for traders if you change the class to level 6. Taking away the cargo restriction is wrong. It gives benefit for no reason. Traders can't have benefits without restrictions to cargo. I'm a trader, I say it's not fair and you know I'm right.
Without weapons, shields of a cargo ship should repel ALL forms of attack equally (against DPS).
The thing is, that a skilled attacker will scan and know what shield a transport has, and use shield busters that hurt that shield. (all shield busters pretty much do 100% DPS to all shields) If a target has a shield that repels everything, they'll use everything on it, then switch to hull busters once that shield is destroyed.
So while this is a good idea, it's not going to help against hull busting or for that matter shield busting. But a trader might give a chance if the trader has a CAU and level 6 shield of any kind. You still wouldn't survive if not close to dock, but at least you'd know you fought back.
Then again, you could fly a Heavy Transport fully loaded with Class 5 turrets and Class 3 turrets, use a CAU 6 or higher. Then you'd be a force to be reckoned with. I fly one, I don't win all fights, but I win many.
If you really want to change the way trader ships react to shield attacks, you'll need to suggest that they change the way shield busters work.
