So as it stands now, I'll be the one who gets to create all the lovely lore binding background info for the Rheinland Battleship, Liberty Dreadnought, Rheinland Cruiser, and Liberty Gunboat.
I'll come up with some witty predictions about how much you'll fail to enjoy that later. For now, just write some submissions of your own.

Built by Royal Engineers, this ship first made its own glory
in 800 A.S. , it was a design that was firstly mocked and
made fun of because of its smaller profile and underpowered core
unlike its Rheinland neighbour. Later on it became successful in a
project where they would place stationary Bretonian Battleships
around Bretonia in order to reduce amount of piracy in specific sectors.
What really made it successful is the amount of versatility each
static Bretonian Battleship could have in fighting off diferent
kinds of vessels, ranging from Light Fighters to capital ships and alike.
Quote:Built by the Liberty Navy, the Dreadnought class is the most sophisticated and devastating ship of its type.
New one:
Quote:One of the earliest and back then most powerful warship designs to come into existence, the Liberty Dreadnought and all of its incarnations have undergone some of the most sophisticated - and most expensive - refinement, modernization and development procedures the house of Liberty can afford. Whatever the exact class of a ship this type, be it the aged but venerable Monument, the de-facto standard Overlord, or the newly-developed Goliath, Liberty's finest minds and engineers have created the navy's one true pride and joy, and even some of the most dated vessels of this type have proven time and time again that they are more than a match for any foe the Liberty Navy might encounter on the battlefield.
With a balanced blend of agility, firepower, heavy armor and speed, the Liberty Dreadnought could be easily mistaken for a vessel unable to truly excel at any role, but unlike most other designs that have attempted to do so the Dreadnought has proven itself to be perfectly suited for a multitude of tasks, displaying a versatility and reliability unmatched by any other vessel of its size.
Liberty Gunboat[color=#66FFFF]:
Old one:
Quote:Liberty Gunboats were built in mass numbers for several centuries, however, in the recent decades Navy cut down its production in favour of more powerful Cruisers and more maneuverable fighters of Avenger class.
I don't remember that thing itself being a vanilla ship so here you go, the new one:
Quote:A relatively new addition to Liberty's navy, the Gunboat follows the design principles of its greater cousin, the Liberty Dreadnought. Created in a joint-effort by Deep Space Engineering and the Liberty Navy after the Nomad War, the goal was to find a vessel that would be capable of operating in many roles, ranging from exploration and heavy intercept duty to more mundane tasks attributed to vessels of Gunboat-size, like light artillery support or simply escorting transports. The result of the collaborative effort is a very flexible vessel that can do just that, capable of operating under any conditions and accomplishing whatever task is set upon its crew without overly major sacrifices in armament, speed or reliability.
Its rugged construction and ease of maintenance are but a cherry on top of its most important feature, that being that it is inexpensive to manufacture which allows Liberty's war-machinery to fuel the fleets with a nigh-limitless supply of those expendable gunboats. If the Dreadnought is the Navy's pride and joy, the vast amount of these Gunboats surely make up its backbone.
Rheinland Cruiser[color=#66FF99]:
Old one:
Quote:This ship class has been produced in large numbers by the Rheinland military and serves as the veritable backbone of the Chancellor's fleet.
New one:
Quote:Nimble for its size and armor as well as bringing impressive amounts of firepower to the table, this cruiser is possibly the most successful type of warship originating from Rheinland. Its unique design and rather simplistic yet roomy construction allow it to be modified for a broad range of tasks, and it is not uncommon to see two of those appear identical on the outside but differ drastically once seen from the inside. The sheer amount of customization options encompasses anything from extended cargo bays, additional energy generators, quarters for infantry detachments to more radical changes like integrated small-scale hangar bays. Nonetheless it remains a vessel of cruiser-size, which does impose some obvious limitations. As a heavier type of cruiser it's not particularly well-suited for engagements against massed strike-craft or agile gunships without the appropriate weaponry for example.
However it compensates for any shortcomings by being absolutely unsurpassed in the role of a "capital-ship killer", where it can exploit its agility and staying power against any larger threats and single-handedly overwhelm any other cruiser or destroyer design Rheinland's enemies can bring to bear against the Rheinland Military. The latter has taken to deploy these cruisers and their experienced crews in pairs as "hunter-killers", prowling through the war-zone and surrounding reaches in search for easy prey, capable of annihilating anything from siege cruiser triplets to assault carriers with ease when working together.
Rheinland Battleship[color=#66FF99]:
Old one:
Quote:Chief among vessels in the Chancellor's fleet, this class of ship is the tactical "checkmate move" in the operations of the Rheinland military.
New one:
Quote:Dubbed the "Turtle" by friend and foe alike due to its distinctive shape, or "Battlebrick" due to its enormous size and lack of agility, the Rheinland Military's Battleship is an unmatched display of Rheinland's economic and military might. Ever since its first inception centuries ago - following the simple design guideline of "Bigger is better." - the Rheinland Battleship has served as the ultimate card to draw in most conflicts the great house was involved in, bringing enormous firepower and downright ridiculously heavy armor to any combat situation. As expensive the construction of one such vessel is, and as easily as it is to outmaneuver - both factors having played key roles during the 80 Year War against the Gas Miners Guild - in the right setting and situation this class of vessel is an absolute monstrosity, capable of obliterating any and all opposition with little effort, while itself being nigh-impervious to anything but the heaviest and most powerful weaponry present in Sirius.
Commanding one of those behemoths is one of the most sought-after honors that can be bestowed by the military, as ever since the war against Liberty began these vessels not only serve as a symbol of Rheinland's might but more importantly as one of defiance against the aggressors, with the "Turtle" having earned such a reputation on the battlefield that even Liberty's navy would avoid those vessels in combat and rather attempt to capture them instead of taking their chances in a firefight.
