the wait between 4.84 and 4.85 was a year and a half so this being an even larger release it is understandable that it took a while, but hey how groundbreaking can you expect it to be, just be happy people care about the game.

They may not, but hell, Freeworlds has done more in a similar amount of time without the source code as well.

And the time between 4.85's first release and 4.86's upcoming release is close to three years long.

Freeworlds also has a far smaller active user base at the moment as well as a comparatively more massive team of devs than Discovery, and as a result of not having to listen to the countless complaints and whatever that everyone seems to subject our devs to regularly, they have a lot more of their free time available to use for productive things like working on actual programming.
