Don't take me wrong but...erm...this looks like the monster from lake-Lochnes. From a more serious point, this isn't a BHG ship. It looks like more of a space monster. If you want to design a BHG ship the base it on the existing ship line. BHG ships are thin and high. This is a really flat ship/something. BTW which one is the front?

Aye...now i see, right then, well as Bloody says, it can be a Wild ship. A half organic capship a crusier or something. The model it self is interesting but it really looks like a space monster the kind you don't want to meet in a remote system without any heavy fire support.
Don't let us discourage you from trying things, but I agree with the majority, here. This ship looks more like a wilde than anything else. Honestly I think it's a bit to long and segmented. I'd drop one or two segments, size it up, and leave it a bit bulkier.
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but this is not how a BHG capital ship would look like. BHG ships are straightforward. It needs to look as if built for combat utility, with plenty of resources.
That being said, the model has too many angles, those two things that come out around the engine look like claws giving it a Wilde/Something crossbreed feeling, even more given the front part of the ship, and the fins.
It's definitely a step forward, but it's not meant for the job you gave it.
Your models are looking better and better, so for that you deserve a kudos from me.
I suggest you look at the models in Jinx's render thread, and the .86 ships thread. That should give you some good pointers. Look at the details, analyze the overall shape, stuff like that will help you.
Definitely make more ships, but stop thinking ahead. Don't start up with 'this is going to be a Liberty Battleship'. Starting with the idea of a 'battleship' is enough, since you haven't yet understood each factions' ship design traits yet.
