I predict an awesome response. Some negative... cause some just HAVE to cry. Others grateful... and amidst the sound of the screaming squirrels... one voice... MINE... here to remind those who really need reminding of how very lucky we are to have EACH OTHER. Awesome Disco TEAM....
Thank you... Gracias, Danke, Merci...
Much love and admiration for everything you all do to make this the best !!!
So much creativity... I'm truly honored to be among you. Some are artists... others not so much... I think I fall under the latter catagory, rather than the former... but I can appreciate the final product... I can do that!
I predict mostly good with some loud bad. Plus at least 2 new ships will be thought by some to be overly phallic.
Ok, I can't resist & I'd like to clarify this for you guys...A long time ago, us NLH were skyping back & forth name ideas for the new gaian VHF, & because we named the gunboat 'Claymore' the name 'Dirk' seemed pretty cool because it fit so well in theme w/ the GB. (for those that don't know- claymore is a 2-handed Scottish sword & a dirk is a Scottish dagger...anyhoo, we don't know what the name of it will be yet, but K. & I were joking tonight about how the phallic jokes would start all over again
I totally agree about the complaints. But, I hope you all forgive me and my sarcasm and I like to be the first one, I would like to state the following:
The 4.86 is crap. It sucks. Server sucks. Weapons are messed up. Too much lag. Can't install it properly, ships are too ugly.
Server sucks, its always 200/200 !!!
...I wonder if I covered everything...:)
p.s. IN 4 the FIRST complaint.

There's going to be a lot of amazing things in the new mod. There's going to be a lot to be appreciative of, particularly (hopefully) the full implementation of Cannon's newest dll (which benefits all).
I fear, however, there's going to be at least one or two very bad ideas implemented that's going to cause a lot of grief. One in particular that I'm dreading. I put a lot of time into thinking, and writing up a concept and before I could even submit it and start to enjoy the character, I hear it's likely going to be bin-fodder with the net update.
- first: there is enthusiasm about the flashy stuff ( all the obviously "new" stuff like models, weapon effects etc. )
- second: players will - after the first enthusiasm wears off - explore the most obvious changes like stats, and ID nerfs - things that are easily to explore
- third: players will dive deeper into the new features - explore stations, jumpdrives, cloaking etc. - at that time they will make up their mind how its good or bad ( or how it benefits them more or less than others )
- forth: players will deal with "the story" - adjust their RP accordingly ... and let novelty become routine
- fifth: the more hidden features will become explored - and in time .... everything will be "discovered"
thats also the procedure that is used as a basis for the time scaling for new updates. - the entire process takes around 1 year - at which - after point 5 wears off ... a new update is meant to roll in. - so that change is ever present.

I am pretty sure I got to point 5 in 4.85 circa year ago...
