Imo. Galia combines everything that is bad for activity.
1) bad position
2) very hostile enviroment
3) difficult acces
Teaming up with another house that have activity problem and policy of not thrusting foreigners is not a viable way to do... well... anything. Alliance with corsairs would help but first they need to find something they have in common. Other than enemies.
I think it would be awesome if gauls would employ corsairs much like privateers.
Another thing that would help would be having galia equivalent of purple goddesses(they have lasers and (useless)pulses but thats all). Gallic freelancers with pure gallia tech and all.
Another thing is that factions that were supposed to work with/expand to galia are still rephacked against them. Certain kusari quasi-lawful faction comes to mind. Possitive rephacks would help. Or a least neutral rephacks.
Another thing would be making gallic import/export OP given how hard is getting in/out. That will atract at least lolwut traders, which would attract pirates and give police work to do instead of skipping the process and letting police pirate traders as it is now.
Edit(after more research): Gallic civilian laser: Weakest hullbuster. (class9: about 200 hull damage per second more damage than rogue class 8 gun for 1/4 more power drain)
Gallic civilian pulse: Weakest shield buster. (class9: less shield damage than corsair pulse class 8 using more power. Doing 100 shield damage per second than debs class 8 using 1/6 more energy)
Gallic civilian other: Missing entirely.
' Wrote:You're either immature or retarded, space is in three dimensions (or more). Look at your room, is it a flat piece of paper? Topologically, an inhabited sector would have sphere-like shape. In roleplay, jump holes appear and disappear unpredictably, and are unstable. In logic, there can indeed be "super links" as you say between gallia with other houses, since the logical basis for jump holes in the first place appeals to the physics of wormhole travel, not short lengths. None of the jumps even between systems would be possible without wormhole travel, and you could jump anywhere in Sirius with wormhole travel. That also serves as the basis for how we have hyperdrives now, so you can indeed jump from Gallia to Omicron Iota if you are motivated to. So cross-sector jumpholes or even jumpgates are feasible.
You don't know what you're talking about, so be quiet.
NO YOUR RETARDED because the Freelancer system map is 2D even if it represents a 3D Universe, and NO WE CANNOT have cross sector jumpholes coz that would be abused by power traders that wanna transport stuff quickly from one side of sirius to the other.!!!

You mad bro. Have you ever jumped between Sigma-13 and Honshu? Or Dresden and the Omegas? Cross-sector jumps, what a travesty...

First off, Calm down.
second, So what if it's abused by power traders? It would make sense inRP and I don't see how making trading less time-consuming would do anything. Power traders power trade regardless of shortcuts or not....
I would say that in my opinion it would be best to create a JH in Tau 29 to Dauphine.
Or even create a JG Tau29--Dauphine
That of course would need quite some RP, and in the same time be the solution for Gallias frontlinesupply problems...... so a JH would be enough.
It's just an Idea of me since the "distance" is about the same like Sigma 13--Frankfurt, that of course doesn't mean anything because the Universe is 3 Dimensional but again it's just an Idea because it would make it lot easier to reach Gallia.

on topic: It's sad to see Gallia inactive after the great work devs put into it.
At the same time with all due respect , I agree that the devs would have done better to put more effort in enhancing sirius...
' Wrote:Gallia has proved to be a failed concept or a badly executed one.
The latter, and we will be taking steps to fix it in 4.87. Main problems are:
- Gallia can't fail on anything. This created player resentment. Gallia will have some setbacks too...
- Gallia is isolated. Only really one way into it. That too will be sorted out, with likely a direct route into Kusari, one through Tau 23 and one through Lewis (or that direction anyway, Lewis itself might kapoof). For unlawfuls, the Omicron connection remains.
- The huge, and numerous systems will be toned down. The various empty, semiguard systems will simply disappear. Double lanes, vertical lanes and whatnot will also be sorted. The idiotic amount of turrets will be removed.
- Privas will be retconned into nonexistence.
These are just a few points. Gallia -can- work, but it needs to be more in step with the rest of Sirius.
