You can use the AI drone's superior firepower as bomber ability and very light gunboat, just without efficient turret steer. The new amount of bots on it makes it quite dangerous, as well as the AI weaponry itself. You can practically kill everything in it better than with any other ship sized like that, except for maybe fast VHF, HF and LF.
I don't really think that AI requires that much additional hardware.

True, I have to agree with you about the Drone and I can 'live' without a larger transport, but a gunboat or access to the Salvager without a power core hit would be nice.
What I was trying to get at, is it being slightly ooRP for AI's to use civilian/human tech when they can and have designed their own tech based on their own needs and their own 'theme'.

Exactly my point. If someone is playing an AI that don't mind using Human tech, that's cool, things are already setup to work well for them, but not for everyone who RP's an AI. Those who don't want to use Human tech, for whatever reason, have no options except to stick with using only two ships OR alter their RP to include using Human tech.
That's all I'm suggesting is it would be nice if there were more Sirian Civilian (Bomber/Transport/Gunboat) options and if the AI tech line were complete.
I think that if any future tech is created this needs to be backed by a serious amount of ingame rp development. The problem is not the lack of ships/guns etc. but the handicap created in base building and establishing a presence with this cargo restriction.
More cargo = bases = ingame rp development
don't think there is an ingame rep associated with the id, this is an area that should be developed it would create some new interesting developments

Quite simply answered, 'Phantoms' are the AI NPC Faction. I've suggested and said it before, several times, and have even offered to help do any of the modding 'work' to make it happen. It should be a playable AI NPC faction even if it has to be a semi-closed one like Nomads. Instead it's just wasted stuff that is never used except on other servers. But, that is a whole other discussion though....
That is a good list for the Freelancer ID, but not working for the AI ID because you get a 90% power nerf if you dont use generic Civilian Ships. For example the Kusari Explorer is a Kusari Civilian ship, not a generic Civilian ship. So the Kusari Explorer with AI ID has 10% power regeneration, which makes it useless.
