Salutations, Admirals of the Bretonia Armed Forces. I am Lord Commander Kinnaird of the Hellfire Legion. Some of you may know me by name; others merely by reputation. What you all know, however, is the firm neutrality that the Legion takes towards Bretonia and the Armed Forces... which has been sufficiently reciprocated in the past.
The last contact the Legion had with you was quite some time ago. However, the recent activity of the Gallic Royal Navy in the systems of Magellan and Cortez, which are close to our home, has proven to be an issue that we can no longer ignore.
It has come to our attention that the main reason for the GRN's activity in these systems is to intercept supplies headed into Bretonia. Therefore, the Legion is coming to you with a proposal, which will hopefully be favourable for both sides.
Our Special Operations & Armed Reconnaisance Division, abbreviated as S.A.D., operates behind enemy lines to combat high-value or high-threat targets, and to gather field combat intelligence. The Legion would be ready to send the S.A.D. to Bretonia and its bordering systems, to start operations against the Gallic Royal Navy. The more intelligence the Legion posseses, the more effectively we might combat the growing threat.
One potential issue that we are aware of is that our presence may cause tensions between Bretonia and Liberty, as our hostility to the Liberty Navy and Government is common knowledge. To that end, we intend to avoid being seen to close to Armed Forces installations, and suggest that you deny any knowledge of our intentions.
My pilots would be ready to move out once all preparations are complete, but it fully depends on your decision. We can help if you will allow us to. The Legion will gain critical intelligence on a faction which is mostly unknown to us, and Bretonia will receive discreet assistance in defence of its assets... if we are in the right place at the right time.
To convince you of the abilities of our pilots, I have attached some guncams of a battle that recently took place in Cortez. Keep in mind that those were regular pilots; the S.A.D. pilots are considerably more experienced than them.
The war with House Gallia is about to reach its climax very soon. Despite our relations with the Legion, which are on the border of the neutrality, considering the events during the past few months I am about to reject your kind offer of assistance. The reasons behind my decision are considered to be of top secret. By orders of the Queen I am unable to share any information about this matter with anyone except the Liberty Navy High Command.
The situation is much complicated as it seems and your involvement right now is not required.
I see you are worry about the border worlds of Magellan and Cortez, where the gauls recently have sent a lot of reconaissance teams to disrupt the flow of supplies coming from Liberty to Bretonia. If you really would like to help by any means then perhaps you should turn your gaze at these systems and take out any gauls that dare to enter in their vicinity.
Lord Commander, if you really intend to protect, fight and die for Liberty, perhaps its time for you to forget your differences with the Navy and request a possible cooperation.
Belive it or not Gallia is the true arch enemy of Sirius.
Sir Firmus Piett
Fleet Admiral of the Armed Forces
