BIASED ADMIN

It has come to my attention that several of the forums admin do not do their jobs properly, they either only read half the argument, or are biased towards their faction in the way they perform their duties. I think this must be stopped, as on several occasions admin has turned arguments to their factions sides, even when they were just performing basic admin tasks. It also annoys me greatly, when these un-named administrators dont read WHO has made a post they dont like, and blame ME or someone else for it. Then we have the problems of when their favourites invade someone elses thread, start telling people what to do, go off dumbing down the starter of the thread, then when the actual starter of the thread gets annoyed and tells them theyve outstayed their welcome, they accuse them of flaming. This has been going on for quite a while now, and Im fed up of it.
I also see only one administrator doing his job, even if he is somewhat biased, which I suppose being the only person doing it, he might well struggle to avoid, where is everyone else? There are at least four more administrators here on discovery, yet I see only one doing any work. Something has to be done. Admin has complained and complained about our posting, and Im sure theyre entitled to. Dont get me wrong; Im grateful for the community and everything that everyone has done. But I dont see how you can all complain about us getting out of hand, if youre never around. I think changes need to be made to the admin. One of which is that to become admin, you must not be a member of any faction, or in any way connected to a faction, this would get rid of main problem; bias. As for the other problems, I can only suggest a reshuffle of the admin, giving positions only to the most active persons.
This is only my honest opinion, free speech and all that, feel free to flame me if you think Im wrong, because Im only saying what is on my mind, and if I didnt, eventually someone else will. I would like to add at this point that I understand wolfs position fully and sympathise with him because of it. He is not the problem. Thank you.

I would just like to say to things.

I personally think the admin do a really great job, I know from personal experience how hard it can be to run one of these things, I was a admin on the Mandalore boards for SWCombine for a while till I left the combine, and that was a nightmare.

I really think if anything the admin should be commended, I wont deny that maybe occasionally they might be biased, its part of humanity to be a little bias and no matter who you have as a admin and no matter whether they are in a faction or not, people always are drawn toward some people more then others and thats just something you have to deal with.

I am not saying that the admin are bias on pourpose however I am just saying as much as anyone can try to stay neutral you do develop friendships and grow to not like some people as much as others and there isnt a lot you can do about it.

The only way around that is to make the admins never talk to anyone and have to be replaced every month simply so that the human factor is removed or even better replace them with robots......... Which isnt very practical... So I will restate it is human nature to develop friendships and just deal with it, maybe if you try befriending the Admins yourself you might find that the actually are rather nice people once you get to know them.

Anyways rounding up I would just like to congratulate our admins for the outstanding job they do, do coz I know how hard it can be to manage a board with only around 200 members let alone one with almost 500 its amazing how time-consuming a job reading all those posts can be and I think they should be given a bit of slack after all they do have real lives as well to live you know.

This is RP guys, I'm sure the Moderators are more than capable of being able to
sit in judgement, without being accused of taking sides. IC and OOC are not in a
Moderators remit. They must be neither. Wolf has unfortunately made the greatest
sacrifice by opting out of a Faction to stay as neutral as possible.

While this is a good post and a concern that we should worry about, i'm afraid I must disagree with you.

First off, I have not seen any admins use bias or abuse their power for a factions gain. If you have proof, please show us (Quotes you can post here would be nice).
Secondly, I think the admins we have are just fine. As for replacing them...
A)You would be hard pressed to find people NOT in a faction.
B)The of the people who arn't, I think that many of them don't even go to the forums, if any.
So, a "reshuffle" is rather impossible, and I feel it would also be unnecissary.
Thirdly, if someone accuses you of flaming, and you think you wern't, then it's the tone of your message. Even if you don't like a person and they've "hijacked your thread" you can at least be civil about it. Try things like, "Thank you for your valuble input. I'll be sure to take that into consideration. *Tosses post* Right, moving along now..."
See? Not flaming, and also you tell them, in bold letters, that they arn't wanted in that thread.
Another thing, I only know of two ADMINS... Igiss and Wolf. Everyone else is a MODERATOR, as far as I know. These would be people like Korrd or Angel.

Like I said, it's a good post and valid argument. I just think it's wrong.

Clarification needed. First of all, what administrators does the 1st poster mean? There's only one administrator for this board, and it's me. And there are two, as far as I know, administrators for server.

All others are MODERATORS.

I'd also like to remind that neither me nor Wolfpack belong to server factions (I didn't know that Wolfpack resigned, but I'm in my graduation period and very busy, cannot follow everything going on). Angel is not moderating Freelancer forums.

This is just to make clear that the critic applies, strictly speaking, to only one person.

As for general moderator inactivity - you can blame me, because for a long time I was the one who did most of post-cleaning job here, now I cannot. I see no reasons to accuse Korrd or Wolfpack of being inactive because I have detailed logs of their actions, unlike any of you. Moreover, I don't see anyone here who could do the job better. Being moderator means being capable of write well enough to be able to review others' posts. Not many of our members can be called perfect posters, but if anyone here feels he/she would do the job I'd consider it, because Freelancer forums really lack moderation nowadays.

I, too would like to know WHO this is pointed at... WHICH Admins/Moderators are you talking about?

I'm the only active administrator on the server.. igiss stays behind the scenes. The only reason why i went against SF and AW in the war was cause it was getting out of hand and as server admin, it's my job FIRST AND FOREMOST to make the server as good a place to play as possible for everyone involved.. especially n00bs.

Please, clarify the first post. WHO has done this community wrong? Who's biased? I wanna know.

Though Im only a Moderator, if there are concerns that need to be brought to my attention, please tell me in person so that I may fix them, Or Aid in any other way to make Discovery Run smooth.

But as a Moderator, I have a JOB, here on Discovery, but im also a player, so taking that into account, where allowed to have a personal opinion on a given subject. But please don't take everything that a Admin/Moderator says as what the ADMIN OFFICE says, more often then not its the players point of view.
