Now with everything being easy there is just nothing to achive and people leaving. Victory.
We actually do gather around this topic now and have a good laugh about it.
Lol, I assume you're taking those things for an "achivements". They hardly are. I got around 5 cloaks and a jump drive w\o any significant effort and I take those things just like some codes that I can't get in shop. They are nice toys to play with, but not mandatory to have. There is nothing interesting about it.

How is stuff any easier to get now than it was in 4.84? Or is it just that all the "oldbies" already got their billions off of a mining gold rush/cheater money and bought 20 battleships and now they are bored?
Maybe we really could use a server account wipe...

Are CAU8 mandatory? And how much harder was it to make money in .85? Or are talking about OP OORP combos?

Dont think it will work well here...it would work for EVE, yes, but probly not here

You do realize that this is an open-ended RP server not CoD with its ranks and unlocks right? You play here for the experience of being here not to reach arbitrary "achievements." Do you require an external reward to have fun doing things?

you dont really care do you? you come here for a while, get a ship deleted for violating something, then go away a while.
pretty sure this whole thread is just one big concern-troll, tbh
Actually I needed to take a break after my help-the-newbies group became inactive.
Ursus, stop derailing my threads or I will call a moderator immediately. If you have nothing positive to contribute, don't click the damn reply button. I will quote Stefz: "Don't like me? Great, I'm not here to impress you."

I think this rhetorical question may address perfectly what we need to consider in our individual playing mindset.
From my perspective, Disco is losing a bit of its magic because its becoming too stale - there's an equilibrium between different stake-holders in- and out-of-roleplay. There's not a lot of room for unplanned events to unfold.
Gone are the days of Dublin, the period of Disco that stands out to me as the most vibrant and dynamic, and instead we have players arguing with other players when they break the "script" and win battles they're supposed to lose on paper and so on.
I think it would be good to bring some of that energy and "open-endedness" back, re-vamp the faction system, do a character wipe (and delete some of the less useful systems in the same go), and chuck in some back Omicron systems with lots of high yielding Ore or some new material previously unknown to man, and let players carve out of piece of space for themselves.
... you want Dublin/Detroit back as the top economy run in the game? The reason that was nyxed was the amount of silliness in the system, and the admin workload generated as a result. That said, if people want a higher gold run to Liberty back, I'm sure something can be worked out.

Zoom made PvP easy to learn, everyone has mastered the art of holding sideways and holding down the trigger while occasionally turning to a different side or (gasp!) he slammed reverse?! musta taken along time to develop those skillz!
But yeah, the two reasons I loved disco was that the interaction environment was always subject to change. And TWO: The sky was the limit to bettering yourself in PvP (this is still the fact with snubs, but no longer with anything with zoom).
