So you do have our communication protocols, but not the history of Sirius? It's not exactly a secret who's who in this asteroid mire they call the Taus, although, depending on who you ask, you'll get different answers as to who's entitled to what. Guess you're newcomers, so let me give you the rundown.
First, there's us. IMG, Independent Miners Guild. We're basically selfemployed miners who mine various minerals around these parts. Niobium, Beryllium, Copper, Cobalt, Water, Oxygen... you name it, we mine it.
There's the Gallics, mostly their Naval folks. They're mostly just passing through on the way to Bretonia, 'though some of em mine or trade.
There's the Zoners around a couple of Freeports. You got the ones in Tau-29 who deal with Kusari a lot, and you got the ones in Tau-37 who deal with us a lot. And with the Outcasts. Zoners tend to keep to themselves, they don't like to be pushed around, but otherwise don't push others around either. Good folk in my book.
Speaking of which, the Outcasts are a bunch of addicts who think all space they see is theirs. They tend to steal and peddle their chemical, "Cardamine" to whomever will have it. The stuff is highly addictive and potentially fatal, so us miners don't want any part of that. They often attack anyone in sight. You lot had best watch out when dealing with those guys.
You've also got a few Kusari folk in Tau-29. Samura and Kishiro mine Hydrocarbons there for their industries back in Kusari. Those guys generally dislike outsiders.
Anyway, that's the basic laydown of the Taus. What about you lot? Who are you and where do you come from? Omega folks migrating maybe? Omicron dwellers stretching your legs? Last time I had some guys similar to you on the horn it were those... Vira... Viru... Eh, some kind of weird enclave on Gran Canaria. Union... You're not related to the Alster Unioners I hope?

Who are you, and what would you like to talk about? I am afraid I do not have much time for chit-chat, but if you have important things to discuss, I will be glad to meet up with you...if you would kindly identify yourself better.
To be honest, Yriam, without a "closer look" I would not have noticed that you are an artificial being at all. I wonder if the similarity of your visual appearance to the human look is a clever diplomatic trick or if it results out of something else.
However, to not ask too many questions even before a real conversation started I would say should move on with this. I can assure I am speaking on behalf of the Consensus when I say that it would be an interesting opportunity to arrange a meeting between our two associations. Though, I am not sure where this meeting could actually take place, at least not if you only look at the Tau systems. But I am sure this will not be a big obstacle.

If you are ever in need of assistance of any form, format or function you may find the Commonwealth on Freeport 10. We will provide docking and access codes as you deem appropriate, cheri, or as the Union requires. If you require darling, we can also offer Freeport 10’s docking facilities for the purpose of carrying vessels of your... intelligences.
I will also be exceptionally clear; the offer we are proposing is not a statement of alignment, but a possible shield against attrition. This station; ‘Freeport 10’, is considered neutral to all human factions which manifest an interest in Taus, and the Taus are a series of systems on the cusp of a bloody war between various human groups. Actually, it is good to year that you act in the Tau 23 system at the moment, because my mostly used shell is frequently located there. Thus it will not be very difficult to get in contact with each other. I am not sure what you, as an individual, would prefer. But it would be possible to arrange a meeting somewhere in open space as well as using the Java station installation used by the Independent Miners Guild -they are relatively tolerant when it comes to "unusual visitors".
And as a not unimportant side note: You should tell other individuals of your kind that it could be dangerous to act within the Sigma systems. Local human associations seem to have territorial instincts they need to follow at all costs.
