Quote:Armicustos, Corsair Transport, now has a set of stats similar to Raba.
Note that the current model is only a placeholder and does not reflect its stats as well as it should.
Are we talking about the cargo old, too? While there is no denying that the Raba is a hell of a great ship, its evil twin, the pirate transport has substantially more room for plunder while having similar combat-y stats. Any chance for more room?
Shishapangma, IMG Heavy Transport, now has a set of stats similar to Bison.
Same turret count and cargo space, similar armor and handling.
Next on the list: Transports
I thought the IMG Battletransport was going to be along the lines of a Shire/Uruz/Akegata, it was designed with those in mind. How come it will become like the Bison now?

This kind of surprises me as well. Why give it more cargo and less defensive options when most other IMG| vessels are opted for the exact opposite?
I don't quite understand. Can we maybe get an explanation on the thought process behind this? Would be really nice and interesting.

Diversity.
IMG ID already has access to both Shire and Uruz on 90% (which are pretty much the same ship with different models) but not to Bison. This allows people to choose between more turrets/better handling* (Shire/Uruz) or higher cargo/more armor (Shishapangma). If people want to fly a Shire, they can fly a Shire. There's no point in giving IMG players a ship they already have access to 2 different copies of.

It's called Grizzly.

Wrong thread.
* That does not essentially mean higher turn speed. When it comes to large and slow ships such as battletransports, the ones with long and thin models tend to get stuck in gates and lanes more often than those with box-like shape.

Diversity? More Armor? The Bison has less armor than the Uruz or the Shire. The IMG was hoping for a good, unnerfed BT of their own with the new ship they were going to get. We were looking forward to an equal ship like the Shire or Uruz, because those do very well for us. If the Bison at least had better agility as well as better armor ... but at the moment it has neither. Same agility, 10k less armor, 2 turrets less, 100 cargo space more. Sure, it can dodge easier due to being rather slim, but it's still longer than the Shire.
All I'm saying is, many in IMG were really looking forward to their own BT along the lines of the Shire and Uruz, not along the lines of the Bison. Now, if you tell me the ship is just the size which it's current model's "preview" in the .86 files has, as well as getting more armor and more agility ... might be "interesting". Still, the exptectations were clearly towards having a Shire-sized, decent to handle in asteroid fields battletransports with 12 turrets, the low agility like the other BTs, 4.2k cargo space and the same armor like the other ships.
Diversity in what the transports looks, great, diversity in the stats ... not so much. The current setup of the BT worked very well for us. Bison was always out of the question, first because it's Liberty, and second, because we prefer the Shire and Uruz - and previously the Akegata, which we can't use anymore as well, for good reasons, but which was used a lot before.
I'd really like to ask, and I think I'm speaking for a few IMG members who care about such things, to rethink this. Or to send Aet over to slap me for complaining again before actually flying the thing.

Actually, no. The Grizzly is a high security freighter for police duties and such. A bit like the Ragnar, but not with such cargo space. Imagine it like a SWAT car.
It'd be appreciated to see the Rhino on the same level as the other freighters, getting rid of the unusable "Mk1 ships" or buffing them. Liberty lacks a "big freighter" of their own.
I must say, I'm very happy about seeing the Humpback getting a buff. Maybe I'll even go and buy one now...

Grizzly is a whole different ship, for a different customer, with a different purpose. Rhino is the low-level ship for beginners. Grizzly is an attack freighter.
All the houses have beginner freighters, and they are all Mk 2 stats except the Rhino. Rhino needs Mk 2 stats to be balanced with other low-level house freighters.
