Kyle was halfway through his glass by the time he had closed his eyes and started tapping his foot to the beat of the music, he heard his name being called.
"Westie...is that you?!
He opened his eyes and looked up to see a young woman moving towards his table, he recognized her instantly, Susan Anders. She was one of his oldest and best childhood friends and Kyle hadn't seen her for years. He stood up, his mouth opening to reveal a wide smile as he met her on foot and embraced her in a hug. After a few seconds they sat down, he kept her gaze.
"How've you been Susie? It's been years."
He looked up at one of the bartenders, catching his eye and pointed to his drink before putting up two fingers, mimicking drinking wine, and looking back at Susan.
The music was playing again, Laz found himself doing shot after shot, trying out the menu to find his tastes. It had been a fair while since he'd last drunk. He noticed everyone socialising and was naming them in his swaying head.
"Haaaaa....I wonder if i'll be on patrol with you!"Pointing at Kyle. Thankfully he didn't notice. Laz was never one for subtlety either.
There was one person he had yet to see walk in though.
"Where the balls is Chamberlain!?"He said quietly, slurring a little.
After taking one last drink from the bar (yet another IMD, still convinced it was drugged somehow) Mercer made his way back to a seat, wondering if anyone would give him company. He never felt left out but he'd been alone for so long, he wondered if he was doomed to dying alone.
Elaine nodded slowly, with a faint smile on her face."So Anna it is, alright! While having a look around, she emptied her glass. It did not take long until the bar was well crowded, and a proper atmoshpere developed. The woman who definetely ruined Frost's day - no matter what mentioned wannabe-womanizer said - went to a more quite corner of the main room, sitting at a free table now. Once more she could not help but chuckle quietly.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. The 'casts are everywhere up there. Seriously, I wonder if the rumors about their infertility are true. I myself had one or another problem with them. Though it went not always too good, I'm pretty sure they know by now how mad I can get when they dare to annoy me. But all in all, you can easily deal with them. The bigger problem are the engineers who check our vessels. I mean, they actually got the ability to kill us! Seriously, when I headed out last time after they checked the Taxidiotis, we almost died on several occasions. Thus I had a nice little talk with the engineers today... Apart of that, business is going quite fine, thanks for the answer!
And well, Lou? He's doing a great job! No wonder the moving business works better than ever. Honestly, I did not know anything about this guy or where the hell he actually came from - I've got no clue what his task was before taking his current job - but he keeps the Movers together, and organised. Exactly how it should be.
With another nod Elaine finishes, as if this would help underlining her own statement. Looking at her glass, she sighs a bit, however
"Damn, I'm going to be totally empty after this night...but if you'd excuse me for a sec', I need to get a new drink".
Then she quickly headed for the bar again, to order another glass of this delicious ale.
Squished bigly ~Champ- Thanks, you're a champ. "What's the word for when it feels inside your heart that everything in the world is all right?"
Aeyrn had smirked to herself as she slowly walked away from the bar. Having found herself an empty table, she took a seat and made herself comfortable, leaning back in the chair and crossing her legs once more. A few minutes went by before she leaned forwards, resting her chin against the palm of her hand - elbow propped up on the table. Her eyes rested on Frost as he went about trying to keep cool. His reaction had clearly amused her. "Have fun with lefty and righty." Langley called out as Frost made his way towards the exit, though... she doubted he even heard her.
It wasn't long until her gaze fixed itself upon the Warrant Officer who was sitting alone at another table. "What the hell are you doing?" Langley said aloud, to no one in particular, as she kept her eyes focused on the man. Mercer, was his name, and she had flown with him only once. Though he didn't seem to be a competent man while off-duty, as he stumbled around and got back to drinking whatever he could get his hands on.
Langley merely smirked as she watched the young Warrant Officer trying various drinks, and began to wonder how much he actually had. However, her attention was shifted elsewhere as one of the bar's attendants approached her table, carrying a glass of mead in her hand, "On the house." The woman said, grinning as she sat down another glass of mead on the table before Aeyrn.
"Thank you." Aeyrn replied softly, sliding her free hand down towards the glass and pulling it up to take a sip.
Mercer was just getting up, minding his own business...when he heard a voice louder than the rest and even the music. something along the lines of "What -- hell -- you doing"
He was still in a state to put 2 and 2 together and realise that someone may be calling at him. He turned to see Aeyrn looking his way from another table before being distracted by a bar attendant.
"Wha..." Was all he could manage before he stopped and decided to stop being a miserable child and walk over to her. He kept it as straight as possible, trying not to look like he wasn't one to handle drink well. Weaving through a couple of Officers who gave him a funny look, he approached the table just as the attendant was leaving.
As Elaine departed towards the bar, Anna and Sophius finished their drinks and left the bar... noticing it's rather late already.
Of course, they enjoyed their time within that entertaining atmosphere and thought they might come back again, but they wanted to have some more time in private before getting back in the line of fire.
Tal strolled calmly into the bar. This time, he didn't turn around and walk out. He went up to the bartender and said,
"Coffee, please."
The bartender looked at him funny, and brought back Tal some coffee. Tal took one sip, and almost spat it out. He swallowed it with an unpleasant look on his face and put the cup back on the counter.
Elaine, waiting for her drink, suddenly received a message. That penetrant vibration of the PDA in one of her pockets made it impossible to ignore it, so the woman grabbed the little computer. She did not even fully read the message, just saw the words Taxidiotis and fuel tank leak on the screen, and immediately turned red like a tomato - and not out of shame.
Without one more word, or even telling the barkeeper to cancel her order, she left the Ambrosia, quietly swearing.

In the meanwhile, another woman just approached the bar. The green tank top, partially covered by an open jacket with a 49th sign on it identiffying her as a Firebirds-pilot, she entered the Ambrosia. As the angry mover passed her, almost running her over, Elizabeth stopped for a second, turning around and looking at Elaine with a short frown.
"Aw, nevermind. Senseless to mess with her now..",Liz mumbled, before her path led her towards the bar. The drink-menu was not too big, but full with stuff she actually never had heard of. After some moments of staring at the menu, Liz turned towards the barkeeper, who now had the ale filled glass which Elaine had ordered infront of him, without knowing what to do.
"That drink was for the nice girl that just left, eh? Guess what, I'll pay for and empty it. Also, how about you make me one of those 44th apocalypses? I'm curious about how apocalyptic exactly it will taste".
Squished bigly ~Champ- Thanks, you're a champ. "What's the word for when it feels inside your heart that everything in the world is all right?"
Chamberlain stopped in the doorway, taking a long look around the bar, noticing a couple dozen other pilots, all in different corners, absorbed in their own little worlds. She was glad that everyone finally had a place where they could cut loose and burn off steam, seeing everyone so happy she couldn't help but smile, even if the crowd was ridiculous.
After deciding she didn't want to just stand around anymore, she finally unzipped her dark blue flightsuit, allowing the top half to fall to her waist, revealing a black tank-top with a red version of the Colonial Seal emblazoned on the chest as she headed to the bar and took a seat, waving the barman over with a subtle hand motion and a slightly bewildered look on her face.
"Hey...yeah, can I get a Council Cognac...and a Hessian Cider, please? Just leave the bottles, and a pair of glasses...I intend to mix them, Thanks."
She offered a weak smile to the barman, drowning out the sounds of celebration around her as her thoughts wandered elsewhere.
Where the hell is Mercer? He was so eager for drinks, did I really beat him here?
She sighed softly, wrapping her fingers against the counter as she waited for the barman to bring her what she'd asked for.
He got little response from Aeyrn but the drink meant he didn't even care. Laz turned around to walk back to his seat when he saw a familiar face rushing to the bar.
"Oh my..."He stuttered. He dragged his feet slowly to the bar as the figure sat down and looked to be waiting.
"Hope you ordered one for me as well!"He slurred, putting his hand on Chamberlains shoulder and giving her the fright of her life.
