Personally I think if someone favours survivability he'll trade long enough to get the highest possible CAU.
Oh, and that thread fits better into Discovery Mod General Discussion
Thank you for moving my thread.
But can I ask you something;
Why don't you answer any Q (not just my Qs) directly?
Realy man, nobody will be mad on you if you try to answer it straight.
I was asking here what is diference if you have Cau7 or Cau8 on 60k hull ship with 240 bots/bats. (I'm talking about 0.2 demage diference on 60k hull ship)
If it is this worthy of additonal 470mils for that particular case.
And also this:
Also I have to ask something about shields too.
We have 3 different kind of medium shields for small transport.
I can see difference in shield hit points ((35k, 50k), 100k)
Soo here is my Q:
When those shields are killed how much time (sec) does they need to come back online?
Thank you for your straight answer in advance Pavel.
Lords will rule their land as they see fit, and the serfs shall merely beg.
To clarify, I don't take part in discussion in every thread in Disco, not with my recently limited free time. If I see something needs to be moved, I move it, but don't join the discussion itself, surely not that much as I used to.
That said, I cba to calculate difference with bats/armors. I think there are people who'd choose CAUs 5,6 or 7 because they're cheaper than CAU8, and there are other people who'll always pay significantly more for any additional protection they can get.
As for the shields, according to wiki it's 6/9/12 seconds, but remember wiki is outdated and perhaps something changed.
I disagree with CauVIII being a pointless upgrade. In fact, I'd say if anything CauVII is pointless on anything with enough space for a CauVIII.
If you want an excellent, affordable upgrade there's always CauVI. With CauVII, you're putting a massive amount of money into something that's just second best.
Ye it is correct because the damage that you take is reduced by the multiplier of the armour. The nanobots on the other hand heal your hull points without the armour addon, however the damage that you take on your hull is reduced by the armour.
Lets say you have 25 000 basic hull. One nuke hit would do 17 000 damage to you leaving you to 8 000 hull. In order to repair 17 000 you would need 28.33 nanobots x 600 each to repair.
Lets say you have cau8 on then the same nuke damage. You would be left on 20750 hull. The repair would be 17 000 /4 = 4250 damage and you would need 600x 7,083 nanobots =4250 to repair the said damage.
The difference between using 29 nanobots and 8 nanobots is obvious, same story between 8000 and 20750. The additional 0.2 points change the multiplicator by 0.2. It is not that useful on small hulls but the difference is huge on bigger vessels like pointed out before the zoner battleship example.
I hope you got it.

OH

with cap 8, bots are worth 2400 armour and bats 1200 shields
if a battleship has 1,350,000 HP without armour, with cap 8 it will have 5,400,000 HP. with cap 7 it will have 5,130,000, so 270,000 hull or roughly 2-3 snacs
Since when do armor upgrades upgrade the efficiency of shield batteries? Since never I think.
Thy do upgrade the efficiency of nanos however. (You don't need more nanos to repair the armor-upgraded hull.)
