So.. This evening we had an encounter with a 'person', who was looking for a fight.
We happened to pass through Tau-23 and this outcast starts by shooting out my cruise engine.
Fine, no problem there.. He then starts with a rude attitude, and points out that he doesn't like neither zoners, 'Japs' nor explorers.. Then I of course knows that he want's to pick a fight, no matter what, even though Zoners are neutral towards Outcasts iRP.
He then proceeds to make his demand, that we drop the Corsair armaments my wingman was carrying.
Fair enough, we don't want any trouble, so we comply.
When my friend undocks, the Outcast makes another demand.. That we dump the artifacts my friend was carrying.
Even though server rules clearly states in 3.3 that:
"Aggressors are not allowed to issue further demands during the same encounter"
We again complied in an attempt to avoid trouble.
Since we wouldn't be baited into a fight, he insulted us a bit more, before he used the NPC's firing at me to begin attacking.
We warned him several times to stop firing and then tried the best we could (we are all RP'ers, not PVP) to put up some sort of fight, but we couldn't do anything when a freelancer passed by and joined the fight for measly 5 mio because 'she hated zoners too'.
That brings me to 2 important points that's been mentioned by a couple of people during this whole zoner thing.
1. Sometimes people just want to pick a fight and there's NOTHING you can do. Say all you want, that zoners are supposed to survive through dimplomacy, but ingame it's just impossible when people are so pew-pew horny and cannot let go of their hatred. Reputation-wise, the zoners are neutral to a lot af factions, but that's really only true for the NPC's. People seem to hate zoners, no matter the rep.
2. Money CAN'T buy you peace.. Some have said, "oh, just pay your way out of trouble", but again.. One thing is theory, another is ingame. When people are in the mood for pew-ing.. there's no amount you can offer them.
And to clear things up:
I don't hold a grudge against the Freelancer, he/she came halfway through and didn't see how it started.
I don't care about loosing a fight, PVP is not my thing.
I don't care about the credits lost, it wasn't much.
What I DO care about, is the fact that we'd spent a couple of hours, collecting cargo for our RP and then it gets ruined by a pew-pew happy *****.
Should I make a report or is this just accepted gameplay?
I invite the Outcast to tell his version of the story and even the 2 junkers watching (and as I recall, dumping bats/bots.. they probably hated zoners too) if they have the balls. I of course have chat-logs of the whole thing, but didn't get any screens as I honestly was a bit surprised.
I have a vague feeling he should've order you to drop Corsair weapons AND artifacts in the first demand, he couldn't issue another demand right after another, but I'm not sure. I will ask admins to check that thread, please wait.
This may be a violation and may not be. I'd have to see the evidence and that does not belong here. I'm going to lock this because I don't want the other parties to tell their side here. That will invite trial by forum which is not allowed and probably start a nasty argument.
