Price is a factor else I'd get something powerful, but then again I really only need something slightly more powerful than my Samsung that just died. It was a good quad core machine but the processor was on the weak side, with 1.6ghz. Really all I want is a machine with a more powerful processor, a big hard drive, as much RAM (6GB) and a graphics driver roughly equal to (but preferably better) than a Radeon 6520G, which is an integrated graphics driver anyway, but it could run quite a few games, albeit with lower settings.
so really I don't need something for hardcore gaming...but being able to run Planetside 2,and like... Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm and Shogun 2 above low/minimum settings would be nice. Tips toward anything like that within the 600$ range would be awesome.
You could buy me for 600$, although I am unsure how that'll help you use the internet.
Jokes aside, 600$ is a decent budget and you should be able to get a mid-power rig assembled quite easily. For a graphics card try looking at a GTX 650, I use one and it works relatively well and doesn't consume a whole lot of power so you might not need an expanded power solution.
Well, I can only recommend the one I have myself, though I am unsure of the price it costs right now, a little more than a year ago when I bought it it was 900$, would need to look into the price today. It's the Acer Aspire V3-771G-9441, has an Intel Core i7-3630QM, 8GB Ram, 1TB HDD, and a NVidia GeForce 730M. More than enough to play alot of things.
anyway Nik that seems like a decent computer, I did some searching for the model, or for others with that graphics card in them, so I might go that route.
So I'll probably be buying the thing I originally mentioned, since it seems to be capable of handling everything my Samsung could, but in a better way, and really that's all I needed before, something as capable as my Samsung, but with a more powerful processor.
So basically, I'll probably be back around and able to game and stuff by like, the 25th.
Aw yis, this should be a suitable replacement and stuff, I mean all things considered the Toshiba I'm looking at seems to be better than my Samsung was, and that's good enough for me.
So soon enough I'll be able to nerd out with a keyboard and mouse again instead of stupid phones XD
Well folks, my plan for a new laptop didn't really pan out, but I've come into a nice chunk of monies recently, so I plan on buying a decently capable Desktop computer which I should hopefully have within the next month or so really, or at the latest before Christmas, so there is that.
I should be returning to Disco relatively soonish, is what I'm saying.
