Can't speak for either party involved, but perhaps you shouldn't judge if it was inRP or ooRP before you know all circumstances. I myself have often enough rammed my ship into the sun/planet during a fight if death is inevitable or the cargo was too valuable to fall into the hands of your enemies, even at the cost of a transport worth 100 million.
Given that we have plenty of "got away in an escape pod before it was too late", this does not even kill off your character.
This is not bad roleplay just because you did not get your desired blue message with your name at the end of it.
I am sure that Rheinbier is very valuable and sensitive cargo that warranted to planetdive a Shire ooRPly.

And why would you think I was after the blue when demanding only 500k from each ship?

It does not really make a difference if your ship gets destroyed by antimatter cannons or by entering planet atmosphere. If the ship is going to die in that fight anyway, why should the captain care if it dies through variant A or B? Might as well try to make any remains impossible to salvage.
edit: Never said that you are after the blue while pirating. That doesn't mean that you leave traders that refuse your demand unharmed, does it?
Then I can only assume you have enough wisdom and experience to predict with 100% accuracy what the character of the other player would do in every situation he is put in? And anything that does not match your prediction must be ooRP? Please, enlighten me what my Order researcher would do next, given that his scanner experiment in Newcastle failed.
The player was actually trying to dock, due to the Shire's wonderful turning rate and you blowing off his thruster he managed to smack into the planet. I hope this clears it up for you, it was an accident not an oorp decision. We are very much so based on RP, have a nice day.
Too bad there was no docking message to reveal the attempt to dock after I disengaged. If you really wanted to dock, you would have done it on Oceana or Curacao. I find this too flimsy explanation taking into consideration all circumstances.
