Oh, they actually did change it?
Still has a VHF shield though, as well as class 8 gunslots.
Soooo besides having a bit less hull and not being able to mount codes it hasn't really changed much.
Oh, Drone also needs its reverse speed bringing to a normal level, as well as its core. I really don't understand why it should be different in cruise, reverse and core.
Anyways, OP is kinda nasty word. I think it turned into swear word by using it so often by people loosing a fight as an excuse.
Well. some ships are certainly more powerfull than others. From my own experience, I have to say that everything has some counter. Possible anti-powerfull tactics sometimes cannot be done by 1vs1. Here are some expamples and counters.
Nammu: Sizewise it's a heavy gunboat. It has nice armour and agility. It's most "OP" feature are five cruiser turrets with significantly better range than gunboat turrets. This is the ship to kill two battleships at once. It is a capkiller.
---Counter: Honestly, take 2-3 snubs with common loadout (2 shieldbusters and rest usual guns). With one projectile per second, it is hard to hit well maneuvering snubs. Snubs can kill it with relative ease. Light gunboats like Bottlenose are also good in Nammu-hunting if piloted well.
Donau: Probably the best cruiser ingame. Very powerfull against light cruisers and heavy battleships. Skilled Donau captain combined with 4 heavy turrets and 7 secondaries is a very challenging target.
---Counter: Donau is slow, take 3 or more bombers to get some strudel quickly. When it comes to capital ships, main foe of Donau was Atlantis during the war. LAC has a lot of secondary turrets. If slow Donau get's too close, it dies.
Titan: I suck in snubs, but if I am getting blues, it is with this ship.
---Counter: Opponent better in pvp
Murmillo: Strafing murmillo is a nightmare for bigger capital ships. It can take down Turtle with... relative ease.
---Counter: Murmillo has thin hull and weak power core. If it get's too close to big capital ships, it dies. What is good to kill a Murmi is eighter a decloaking cap, few bombers or more powerfull small battleship, for example Dunkirk.
Thresher: Thorn in the eye for battleships. Small thing what will dodge everything above 600 meters from enemy battleship.
---Counter: Resheph, Order recon cruiser, definitely. Resheph is also quite small and it has one heavy cruiser turret more than Thresher. If there are no Order cruisers on the battlefield, take a snubswarm to get rid of Thresher.
LABC: Possibility of mounting 3 different missile launchers is a huge plus itself. (If it's still a thing, I am not fighting in Liberty often)
---Counter: I don't know. It's a good ship. I guess Valor can eat it easily if it get's close.

What makes good ships hated is, if they are used by good pvpers. That's what makes them OP.

I'd say it's a concession to an ID that's likely to do a LOT of cruising, same as Nomads. It kind of enforces the point that it isn't the same as human ships.

They have for a long time.
LF cruises at 425 like other LFs, all other Nomad snubs cruise at 400.

Because people think caps take no skill. And when they die to another person they think it's because of the ship. When the reality is that, that is only the case with a few ships.

The weaponry/shape/ and armor of the ship make it a challenge imo

Saishi - highest responsiveness in the game, nonexistent front profile.
Switchblade - Like a Sabre, only much faster, smaller, and with better core regen.
Centurion - obvious case. It basically has the stats of the old Eagle but an incredibly hard to hit shape. Should have stayed a heavy fighter.
Wraith - again, pretty obvious. Good core, faster than several heavy fighters, compact model, and now without its primary weakness. Broken ship.
AI Drone - Still has its godlike firepower, still very tough (although less so), but now fast as well.
Cupholder - Who would have thought this thing would find itself here? Fastest bomber in the game despite the medium core and good hull. Absolutely no disadvantages except size.
Bergelmir - Doesn't seem to matter what they do to this. Miniscule, fast, good snac, five guns.
Hellfire Legion Gunboat - Haven't seen this very much, but....it's a combination of extremely high hull, large GB core and one of the highest turn rates of its class.
Edit: Yep, Lib Gunboat should be mentioned too. Light gunboat size, medium gunboat core and turn rate, heavy gunboat firepower.
Geb - Possibly the most overpowered ship in any class. Ridiculously small but also the fastest turning battleship, without even being very fragile. Completely broken.
Stork - Yes, the Stork has to be mentioned here. A 5k cargo ship the width of a fighter, covered in ablative armor plating. The larger 5kers are probably more than twenty times its volume. To top it off it even comes with a usable number of turrets!
This ship quite simply should not be a 5ker.
