Didn't we state that assets and roleplay belong to the community regardless of what the creator wants and that it is even in the EULA of the forums?
Remember that little AI drama?
Or did we change it again?

But remember if I didnt make this thread then no one would of known what I did with the engine .ales and thus no one would be affected by it ergo that point is mute since I am sure many here, have taken some special effects from some part of the mod and edited them to their own liking. With or without the creators attention.
In fact we see many instances of people doing offline modding in singleplayer of certain aspects of the game without effect owners consent yet is it sought ?

It's not in the game.
Yet.
Thus you're messing with what's mine. Or not, since Spazzy's point, it was posted on the forums afterall, but externally linked. The agreements on this are a little confusing, but uh, I don't like getting involved with copyright stuff. Annoying stuff. Especially with 'fan work' - even though technically most fan works breach copyright since derivative work bla bla.
And to be fair, you didn't make a change to the .ale. All you did was rename a file, as I said. Or replaced. Whatever.

I'm not too fussed but it's slightly annoying how you're acting very... proud.
Especially after the ingame incident where you said you 'upgraded' to it. Yeah, that can easily be intrepeted as 'mocking' - but whatever.
point is
you didn't change anything to the effect.
if you want to learn alchemy
i suggest you read this guide

Right...
It just feels very disrespectful after working /weeks/ on fixing, bugging, then re-creating it all from scratch because of the XML conversion deleting the files, (even the backups deleted?)
I just thought I'd let you know that, even if it doesn't seem necessary to ask, it still is.
That's why I get really mad at people if they make fun of art work. COUGHIMPYLCOUGH
It's personal. It takes time. And most of all (GAY ALERT) - it comes from the heart, to show off talent.
Theres one difference here, I liked your work thats why i deemed it worth it to extract the effect from the .ale to have a play around myself to see what it is like.
So take it as a compliment, as for getting upset about using it without your permission. Well people do it all the time, there is no copyright once submit an effect to a mod.
I am not stealing your effect nor am I submitting an edited version of it for consideration as my 'own work'. So no harm has been done

That's probably the most conceited thing I've ever heard you say. And that's saying a lot since it's, well, you.

As QA lead this is technically my department and I ought to rewrite this in a way that makes sense. I'll probably give the creators full license over their assets until they become unreachable via Skype or forums for a certain amount of time, six months or so sounds reasonable.
