2. The tracking is done by providing our web server with player data it can compute and arrange in the SQL database. This data is provided by the FLHook plugins. As for the california stuff, this is all done by the event plugin but there is still some processing done by the web server to display the data on the forums.
3. Traders are traders. Yes, in theory all they'd do is trade all day (and that's what faction members often do), but this is a roleplay server and there are other avenues they can explore. Diplomacy, expansion, corporate warfare, etc...
4. The admins leave this stuff in player hands. We are only here to ensure they don't stray away from the global storyline, and sometimes even that happens to be altered by unplanned events. Simply put: Admins aren't here to control RP, but they can act if it cease to make sense or may cause issues.
5. There's a plugin I know of that allows this, only in use by Helloween, server operator of "Discovery of Discovery". We don't need this here as when a base is destroyed it's intended in the storyline and done properly through a patch.
6. Sure you can, it might be a little problematic whenever we will deploy a new content update though as some of our decisions might not be what you expected.
OK....I saw a video that show the Core destroyed a Corsairs Battleship called Grenada (seem like this name) ,And the GRN battleship in Leeds also be destroyed....So ...In which time you change this base into "can destroyed",is that faction need to win a combat first ,then you can punch down this base...or,the base is the key of a combat?
And another question ,if a player faction long time not online ,or not active for a long time ,will the admin come out and take down this faction? or just ......let it go?
Why do they fight ,and being warfare .Cause the admin can`t force the factions into war. but what if they don`t want to fight . I mean ,there must be something to tempt them.
Thank you very much
As far as I know, the destructible objects you're talking about are technically player owned bases with a different model. You better wait for Alley's explanation, though.
There's a faction status for the official server's factions which tracks their activity: http://discoverygc.com/forums/serverinte...ion_status
If a faction doesn't meet the required activity they lose their officialdom.
Admins do not force factions into a war. But, as you can see, Bowex and Gateway dislike each other and there are roleplay reasons for some shipping factions to hate each other. This might result in a corporate war, which is very interesting in my opinion.
