Does this large circular room actually appear in Discovery 489 or is it just eye candy? Its the one where the nomad battleship cruises past overhead on the load/save screen.

The main menu screen you refer to is Tekagi's Arch. The room itself was used in a cutscene during the FL SP campaign.
