Imperial navy had no zoi in kusari for ages, yet was still invading, so you cant really use zoi as an excuse for someone not to be somewhere. and sure, there wasnt any/much gaian interest in stuttgart before, but maybe they took this as an opening to expand their influence to other areas?

It didn't have ZoI there because back then the responsible persons were literally at fault for forgetting to implement it, Char and the whole 343 complained about it for centuries. They were supposed to have Kusari ZoI like a year before they actually got it.
Also: How can they expand their influence by having 1 almost dead cruiser in a system so far away from the next Gaian base that it is even inRP useless to supply it?

Yes but they also got new ships, their own weapons, ID and alot more, plus they could use caps and what not and were not a small group of pirates. What splits IKN apart from the Gaians, is that the IKN had massive numbers, as where the Gaians don't, Shelco pointed that out to, this cruiser would mean their spreading their numbers even thinner.
Tho I think altogether the reason its Gaian tagged is simply because with LWB gone, the ship had to go to someone else and honestly, in terms of RP, Gaians is close to LWB, Angry Farmers > Angry Nature Folk. Close enough

Yeah but that is not a reason to hand them a capital ship. Where is the Hessian base in Cambridge due to Molly allies then? The Hessians even have ZoI there. Same issue.
No one gave the ship to anyone. There are no bretonian Gaians anywhere near Greifswald. The ship is crewed and maintained by ex-LWB. We do not have to move a single man to Stuttgart to keep it functional. Everything is written clearly in the infocard. The ZoI extension will be requested soon enough. We did not have ZoI in Vespucci right away either.
2 things about that. Red Hessians have numbers, warships, fleets and more, tho their not removed at the moment, LWB is, so rather then removing assests, they were reused. From what King Boo told me in the past, things are never removed from the mod, their always purposed for something else, including systems and bases, old systems were never deleted, they just lost their jump hole connections, old bases were never removed, they were just moved and changed. In this regard, LWB got removed so their stuff had to go somewhere, and as the RP stated, they had a fallout with both the Hessians and Unioners, so they went to their next ally, which was the Gaians, and even as Nick pointed out, the crew joined the Gaians so really the Gaians never lost anything, they gained 1 cruiser

I am not sure. I was never told LWB removal is a temporary thing. Should they come back, I see no reason against converting Greifswald into an LWB asset. If LWB never disbanded in the first place, then there is no background for the cruiser's crew to seek Gaian aid.
