The main reason why they feel weak is because battleships are more popular than cruisers and battlecruisers combined which results in you fighting your counter almost every fight. If cruisers were 70% of all caps in the mod, you'd be content about the state of battlecruisers. Secondary problem is cruisers having an easier time escaping a BC than a BC escaping a battleship. Both can choose not to fight their counters and simply thrust away unless they get cruised on, in which case cruisers have an easier time escaping.
About them being "bad" against cruisers, I didn't look at the exact numbers of all the guns so I'll refrain from commenting, but if anything battlecruisers could use flat damage increase on cerbs and secondaries to reflect the size increase (they're closer to a light BS than a cruiser, yet their guns are closer to a cruiser than a BS - check cerberuses (19k - 25k - 50k damage).
I'll shortly touch the range issue as well. About 2 years ago range of guns was all over the place until we came up with a concept to balance the range so that the longest range guns of a smaller class stays relatively similar to the counter of a bigger class that's fighting it. For instance, gunboats (smaller class) and cruisers (bigger class) - the gun with the longest range on a gunboat is the pulse/cerb at 1170. Cruiser solarises (the counter) have 1170 range. Any other cruiser weapon has a much smaller chance to hit from even 500 range, so their contribution is minor. The point of all this is that making a smaller class outrange a bigger one without the other having a chance to fight back is bad. Giving bcs 4k mortars that can hit battleships, but battleships can't hit them back with their own mortars is not what we want or need.

Dude, nobody prevents you from creating a topic on snubs and gunboat missiles. I am flying a BC and I asked for the opinion of the community on my thoughts. Why even leaving that comment?
I feel the battlecruiser changes were bad. They're so boring to fly now and there's not really any point picking them over a cruiser or battleship. Old battlecruisers were so much more fun and engaging, and actually had a purpose in combat. Right now their niche is to collect dust.
BCs were okay after the rework. They were better at killing cruisers, which is their main purpose. I've seen people collectively forgetting about really basic stuff in groupfights like keeping appropriate distance and so on and then complaining about BCs being bad on forums. They just weren't as easy to fly as in the past but they were quite capable in group fights. They received a noticeable buff right now though so this thead isn't really relevant anymore.

It wasn't their main purpose before the rework, and they were better balanced for their previous purpose than they are now. It's kind of a circular arguement to say they were rebalanced because their purpose is killing cruisers, or rather it's switching cause with effect, it's more like their purpose became killing cruisers because they were rebalanced.
