Kidding aside: theres a lot of solid difference between the reference-laden Stellaris, and Disco; chief amongst which is the fact that Disco is a mod, and really shouldn't be taking any chances of pissing off the respective owners of property we're 'referencing'. I will conciede that theres about about as much a chance for that to happen as a block of ice lasting in hell, however.

If theres a policy about " no imports ", then the policy should really be applied consistently, rather than haphazardly and ignored when it's inconvenient. Thats why blanket policies exist, they're a good thing. Exceptions are a pain in the ass for everyone to deal with. Make one exception and people can and will make the claim that whatever they want to import has just as much justifiable reason to be in the RP environment as the black hole.

To swing back around to the Stellaris point: Stellaris makes subtle and not-so-subtle references to just about all of popular sci-fi, but nothing is ever referenced directly by name. Concepts and ideas are referenced, often jokingly. Thats not what this is. Overall I will admit that the request to change it is a petty one, but when it's a reference as tacky as this one, I'd argue its a justified change. Interpret how you will.

You leave the singularity core infocard alone; the comparisons made in the other thread to the Romulans were not made lightly. That infocard is fantastic and anyone that says otherwise is silly.

Stellaris has Standard Construction Templates (WH40k) as a technology, Soylent Green as a pirate ship name, Gamma Draconis (Freespace 2) and Arrakis (Dune) as system names. And nobody bats an eye.

I agree, we shouldn't name anything new after imports, since we are past the point of not caring about what's an import and what's not. But that thing has been called Razgriz for a decade by now, nobody cared until now that it's a reference to Ace Combat, and as it appears not even some of those playing the game knew it's actually and Ace Combat reference.

It's indeed a trivial matter, does not break anything significant (or anything at all), and if you feel offended by being called out on complaining about trivial matters, well, go on. In the end you are free to call the blackhole whatever you want, in the meanwhile the rest of us will do the same and call it whatever we want. If it stays Razgriz for us, it stays Razgriz for us, and a thread like this won't change the habits of a decade overnight.

Honestly, dont know what or who is Razgriz, and for me this look okay. Also, small references in naming, without full import not bad, i think. Especially when nobody give care about it.

We are also can stop use modern-history stereotypes for playing RP, but nobody care.
