Joshua shook his head, gesturing at Megan with a hand so that they gave up on the ship. "Just let it float away, I'm dead serious when I say we gotta get away fast." He let a sigh out before accommodating himself on the first container he could sit on.
"I'll pass on the tea, I'm starving. Why would you bring tea here, though? Is the Agency investing on Bretonian goods now? Hah."
He also declined the offer for a cig, feeling exhausted enough after the adrenaline rush during his stay inside the lifepod had now vanished. "Well, damn. Christina knew about this whole op. We thought we would hit jackpot by finding this goddamn runner that flew in the 5th fleet ranks. Turns out everything went FUBAR, found no trace of the guy and also came across every savage that populates Sigmas and the neighbouring Omicrons. And the bombing of the gate at Frankfurt didn't help either. Daaamn dude, ain't paid enough for this."
He rubbed his forehead during a brief pause, wiping some sweat away. "Okay screw the cheeseburger, I'm thirsty. Anyway... I haven't heard from Christina since I left Liberty either. Who's running the show now, by the way?"
She closed her cigarette case. "Very well." She rose her hand to her earpiece and told Victor to drop the fighter. A small noise was heard as the heavy tractor was shut down. "Well. Times have changed, Joshua. Director Reeves is the one we respond to, it seems. The whole Agency was restructured. I just got back from a deep cover mission, and I have not seen dear Christina."
The smoke lazily rose to the ceiling. "As it is, Joshua, times have changed. Hopefully for the better." Kaze pulled a small data-pad and handed it to Joshua. "It's clean and connected to the main signal distributor, so it will reach Liberty if need be."
Pointing to a nearby cot, clean clothes resting on top of it and an ID. "Rest, if you want. There is a change of fresh clothes and ID, if we are interrupted in our voyage. I will be at the front, to keep our pilot accompanied." Putting the cigarette out on the floor, she exhaled the remaining smoke. "We will reach Liberty in twelve hours, if all goes well. Do you require anything else?"
"Hell... Feels like I've been an eternity out here. So there's a single Director now, uh. Wonder where my reports are now." He took the datapad from Megan, tapping the screen several times before he simply shut it down.
"It's alright, let's just get to Liberty and I'll have the debriefing done as soon as possible. There's a lot of crap being stirred around here and honestly I fancy getting back properly equipped, this time." He stood on his feet, tapping on the container.
"I'm alright, I'll chew whatever food rations you got here and sleep as much as I can, heh. Who's flying this thing now? That Sonja Kerensky? Been a while too."
Kaze shook her head. "A personal friend, doing the both of us a favor. Worry not, he doesn't want to know anything or meet anyone." Walking towards a small crate, she opened it, showing off food supplies and beverages. "Food is here."
Turning back at Joshua, she leaned on the wall. "Kerensky, last I heard was in Manhattan, on a leave of absence. Vacations, most likely." She rose her hand, cutting Joshua before he could word the obvious. "Yes. Former Coalition do take some holidays. Much like us."
"We got to catch up sometime then. I don't want to stand still doing nothing once the debriefing is done, so if there's anything fishy that requires another asset, let me know." He approached the already open crate, only grabbing a bottle of water and gulping it down. "Sweet Jesus..." He exhaled.
"Damn Commies, in my House. Suppose it's too late at this point. Maybe we'll start welcoming Gallics at 'Hattan as well. Anyway, I'll sleep. If I'm lucky, I'll wake up by the time we've reached Colorado."
