It's not the model, it's the hardpoints and/or stats on the model.

TBH both the bw transport and the train needs more work. The floating cargo pods are one thing, but some of them are even misaligned (like the first pod on the train)
for me what "kills" this ships is the poor handling on the trade lanes. i can dock with no problems larger ships.
about fighting i would like one ship that would have a fighting chance against against a snub ... including a bomber ... in a defencive way not offensive!!

if it is not the ship so the fault is the trade lanes, because i do exactly the same thing! i can even give you an example, honshu system, you leave the jump gate from new tokyo to the trade lane of the shipyard, don't remember the name, when i had the new btw i had to manually guide the ship and many times, even if i almost at the center i got stuck!!!! and acording of what Dogbite10 said ... it didn't changed much!! bigger ships no problem!!!
I beg to differ, mate. I had the original BWT for absolutely years, then upgraded to the new one when it came out. The handling on trade lanes sucked so badly I ended up cashing it in for a Bison. The new BWT has definitely got issues with the lanes.

yeah right! other ships i even just click to dock and no problems, but of course that is all my fault!! right!!! but looks like we all suck docking .. except you of course!!!

I have flown the BWT since day one, it was my first ship in back when I was in OSI was my trusty dusty when I was a Inde Hessian, has been a mainstay in my Junker Smuggling fleet, and did some work for me as Outcast running Cardi or a LPI Stopping cardi. So I like to think I know my way around the old BWT.
That being said:
The old one handled like a dream and slipped in and out of lanes like it was part of them. The new one has its moments, it certainly isn't as slim as the old one but overall I like it. I do agree that it needs its firepower cranked up as currently it is very much so lacking. It can shoo off NPC's well enough but against players it wouldn't stand a chance. I also will not deny it certainly feels more sluggish then the old one, though I will admit it could be a result of the size of the ship and how it looks when it turns.
TL;DR: The current one takes some getting used to handling wise to but It can still slip in and out of lanes with the same finesse the old one had you just have to get a feel for it.
Ps: I love this new model, the Cargo Pods make it so much nicer and more customizable in conjunction with the engines. If we could crank up the power and get more selection of pods that would be excellent!
