I've been playing Freelancer since 2009-2011, with a long pauses, and i have to say that i haven't seen a group like DTR on Discovery for quite a while.
No toxicity, no nolife compensation or supremacy complex so common for this community, just a bunch of people who gathered to have some genuine fun. Both new and veterans who came for another portion of nostalgic memories.
Group is really welcoming to pretty much anyone, always helping and talking through. This is really a unique phenomena for modern Discovery tbh.
People in DTR are different, both in RP and PVP aspects, so you cannot really judge the group by a few people who made a mistake there and there - these with dedication can learn. Lots of people who joined at first wave went ghosting, and will have to be filtered out, but the population amount is still more than large enough.
If anyone deserves an officialdom - it's DTR. Group may need more active and serious RPers (which is i believe fixable over small amount of time), but i haven't seen such fun gatherings around since the Gallic War times, which was eventually mismanaged and frakked up as things commonly ending up here. Hopefully, DTR will remain untainted for as long as this community may still remain alive, the amount of fun they produce made possible for me to actually return to Freelancer and enjoy it a bit longer once more.
Self RPing Bretonian 5kers into the faction by letting DTR members fly BMM indie transports is just weird.
Havent seen this kind of meta since Spectre.

Said person inRP told me basicly to get lost. Your point?
Not the first time Misaki bothered hostile factions with weird comms. And no, Jayce and I arent best buddies.

Literally this. Only briefly encountered some of your miners. I heard lots of "meh" and lots of positive things already, so I am curious to meet yall ingame.
Don't let mistakes discourage you.
And don't listen too much into some people's judgement. That specific 5ker thing might look a bit weird - if they were really your members - but you at least go ahead and do something creative, unusual and inRP logical. That's damn cool guys. (Also this is about 2x 5kers, I could understand the oh big drama about caps, but transports? At least this is far cooler than just purchasing them, like other unlawfuls do and can.)

Absolutely kudos.
+1
What else can I say that has not already been said...
Friendly people, always ready to help each other, well organized, great structure (hierarchy), fun being around etc.
From my time being in their group, I haven't seen any toxicity or negativity towards anyone, quite the opposite in fact. Also, being patient and understandable because they know that people have their lives outside of Freelancer (or any other game for that matter).
The hate they receive might just be from envious people, after all... didn't the others start the same way in the beginning? Always quick to judge, but successful people are often hated...
Anyway, everyone deserves a chance and I can only wish tons of success for the DTR group, never give up to achieve your goals; you've got my support.
PS: People will always make mistakes, regardless of the group, it's what matters next -> if they are willing to learn from those mistakes.

Got one for you. I'd love to see your guys engage in some higher stakes roleplay. There's been some great stories here on the forums, better than modern best-sellers, even, and it would be amazing if your guys were to start the path of adding to those. Easing your toes into the community at large is a great first step, and it's nice to see you all taking it.
It's also nice to see that the older players have high expectations for you. It means you're doing something right, for certain, and I haven't seen @Emperor Tekagi have hope since the last time hardogay was posted in the hardogay channel.
I'll do something about my superiority complex when I cease to be superior.

We could just simply get them and transfer the IDs, they're fully compatible. But it was much more fun and beneficial to actually do some in-game RP around it rather than making a dry post explaining how it came to be. There's not even any real SRP involved, no tech compat requests, nothing here should bother anyone. I don't see how doing that could be wrong.
Would love to see some actual constructive feedback tho, since I'm the one who organized it. Are you saying it's considered metagaming because it didn't involve anyone external to DTR? Or is it because the event wasn't announced on the forum beforehand?
