you dont get to be on the staff if you arent fellating at least a few of them
if you do somehow manage, nothing you say will be heard and youll be expected to rework whole sections of the game the second youre on board
that was my experience anyway : )

Nothing will change except if you manage to get into the team and hope that the Dev Team Lead or the majority of other dev‘s agree with you.
But for now, I suggest we hope that the new patch will either bring a lot of new and old people, otherwise we will just continue with the way discovery always worked…
Ironic that I quit (well, now it can be called taking time off), because I was denied into economy developers for the second time. Now on December 3rd, Haste posted about looking for people and to PM, I did so on December 22nd and by January 7th there is still no response. Even a negative response would be sufficient to put it to rest.
Which once again demotivates players who might be interested and might have experience to help with development.

Been told that I need not apply way too many times. And I doubt that they will start behaving any different than described in my previous post once I somehow manage to get one of their silly colored names.

Nothing will change unless ideas start to be discussed and implemented based on their merit and not based on how many color-named people agree or disagree for reasons that are never divulged or discussed.

The exact same thing as every patch will happen.
A few more people will log to check it out, then stop playing again for the exact same reasons they and so many others did before.
Hate to tell you this, but this community is even worse off since you took your break. The last dev that truly cared about the community and actually took the time to reach out for ideas was personally attacked and ridiculed by other devs and staff. If his idea takes root here then unfortunately it will have somebody else's name on it.
Not only will officialdom probably not be granted to another group unless immediate action takes place within the administration of this community, but it simply isn't worth it. Your initial post has things said since even while you've been in the community. The people that want this community to build and thrive are being sidelined while the clique continues to hold power. You have to subscribe to the circle jerk or else you are a nobody.
My word of advise is, unless you have an idea not thought of yet, it's best not to invest too much into this community. Role play and fly with friends. Anything else just isn't worth it.
I hope that either all of us or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments. But rather, by the strength we show when, and if, we're ever given a second chance.
Well, I also applied like what 4 times, only got accept 1 time and so far never got a response back about my old apps.
Right now, I‘m part of the contributor team, which gives me at least a small inside of what is coming.
Maybe try to become one of that, at least brings you closer to the dev team and you might be able to get a position.
Trust me, I‘m not a fan of how the current system works and I doubt that anything will ever change here if you don’t get 3/4 of the dev team to agree with you
But I guess that‘s how disco works, since this is how it always worked when I joined. I guess we can just hope that someday one of the dev Leads starts to hear us.
I mean - Zentor left, the most agreeable hard working guy, who was sharing development progress with the community. What chance do people like we have who see most current devs as arrogant, biased and incompetent from the get go :p
OFs just are not a big deal anymore, it's just up to us to accept it and do the best with what we have.

This is one of the main factors of success as a developer and a community.
I would also add that he was talking to the community and gathering information/opinions/suggestions.
Anyway, Not all the apples are rotten, good luck to the current developers since some of them are really good at what they do.

After the way that Zentor was treated prior to his departure, there is no way in hell that I'm putting my name in a hat under the current administration ever again. By an overwhelming margin, he was viewed as a good to the community. If that is how devs like that are treated, especially by some of the names that I saw, then no.
