Sender name and rank:Admiral Blake Wayne Van Leer Recipient:BAF Office of the Admiralty, Crayter Republic, Liberty Navy Primary Fleets' Admiralty Subject:Coronado exercises, volume two
Good day to you all.
I have just received a gravely serious report from Coronado from one of our Crewmen of all people, the lowest rank in the First Armada. Needless to say, I consider this fact a failure on part of the Office of Naval Intelligence which should be ahead of the likes of Hawk Jones, we shouldn't have green pilots stumbling onto massive hostile fleets that we don't know about.
That fleet belonged to the Outcasts, a stone's throw from Yuma, Yellowstone, and the Gate Construction Site for the Coronado - Cortez highway. As far as a report of a gun-ho overconfident rookie can be trusted, it appears that the massive Outcast fleet has routed a sizeable defense force of Coronado with relative ease. These defenders have been comprised of the Bretonian Armed Forces, the LSF and I would hope to presume also Crayter.
Action
With this in mind, and with recent in my opinion counter-productively public rumors of tensions between our houses that may have encouraged the Outcasts I would like to propose another iteration of training exercises in Coronado between Bretonia, Crayter, and Liberty.
This a continuation of the very successful exercises that took place several months ago.
I would propose a rotational organizational chairmanship of these exercises - with the BAF setting the first term, the command and organization would this time fall into the hands of the Crayter Republic or the Liberty Navy. In the case of the latter, the First Armada would gladly leave the organization to our house's capable Primary Fleet commands and follow their lead. These exercises would not have any grandiose political implications, but be simple means of preparedness and symbol to such massive threats as the Outcasts have proven to be today. Simply showing up and working together will work as a deterrent, and proof that no matter how many treaties will become outdated or how many political tensions arise, the civilized houses and republics are ready to stand tall together against the Outcast barbarians.
I am here merely to begin the hopefully productive discussion - as I said from our position as a secondary fleet the First Armada has no ambition to lead these exercises, but we can provide any support that will be required, and will naturally take part should the opportunity arise.

I've faced my fair share of challenges, albeit most simulated, but none quite as overwhelming as the encounter with the Outcast Fleet in Coronado today. It started with a routine patrol mission, but I soon detected the Outcast fleet on my radar. My initial plan was to join the Bretonian fleet and engage them in a skirmish, but as I got closer, I realized the sheer size and firepower of their fleet. We were hopelessly outnumbered, and our morale started to falter, the Bretonians were wiped out or fled.
Nevertheless, I had to fight, and I did. Yellowstone cannot be allowed to fall. I engaged them in a dogfight, weaving in and out of their ships, firing my weapons, and avoiding their incoming fire. My ship was nimble, and I zeroed in on and heavily damaged one of their cruisers, but it soon became painfully clear that I was not making much of a dent in their fleet. As the battle progressed my ship's systems started to malfunction under the fire.
The Outcast ships were too powerful and I was unable to withstand their onslaught. Due to the remote location and most of the First Armada located in other places, I could not even call for reinforcements.
I remember feeling a sense of dread as I saw more and more of my hull starting to buckle, and the realization that I was going to lose this battle without destroying a single Outcast vessel started to sink in. In the end, I was forced to retreat, and the Outcast fleet continued on its path of destruction in Coronado. I felt like I had failed my people and my fellow pilots and our Crayter allies. I was supposed to protect them but was unable to make a dent in the Outcast fleet.
Looking back, I realized that we were outmatched, and there was little I could have done to turn the tide of the battle. Nevertheless, it was a difficult lesson to learn, and I hope that my failure and the defeat of the Bretonians and us will serve as a warning to others who may face the Outcast fleet in the future and that we need more help in Coronado.

Esteemed allies of the Crown,
We wish to first begin by thanking for the invitation in participating in military exercises once again. They have helped cement a working and very productive relationship between the Kingdom of Bretonia, the Crayter Republic and the Republic of Liberty and we are firmly in favor of continuing onto this path of partnership against terrorist groups such as the Technocracy of Auxo, Liberty Rogues, Mollys, Insurgency, among many others that threaten the stability of the Independent Worlds.
We shall stand awaiting the Crayter Republic's representatives to respond to this invitation. As it is the Liberty Navy's request for the Crayter Military to spearhead training exercises, we leave the initial setting of the framework for these operations in their competent and capable hands. We thank you once again for the invitation and hope that these talks will materialize in the coming weeks.

The last NATO(pending name change) exercises proved to be a great learning experience. I might even say it helped us in our recent operations and their successes. More exercises may prove to be even more fruitful to our future operations, and your invitation is accepted. Though may I propose that one of the great houses of Liberty or Bretonia may host such exercises? The Crayter Republic hosted the last exercises. As a sign of good will, the host should be rotated between the participants. I am also open to what exercises be executed. Perhaps change is in order?

To my fellow Fleet Admirals.
It has come to my attention that all parties wish to once again hold joint military exercises. Should all parties reply we may continue organizing the next exercise.
Thank you for your time.

Trusty Allies,
Bretonia Armed Forces have a new Admiral of the Fleet - I believe it is absolutely vital that our forces will be ready and prepared if a threat of the Outcasts, Auxesians or other forces appears in the border worlds - given the new leadership in Bretonia joint exercises seem like an absolute must for operational readiness. I know there have been political tensions in recent years or so for one reason or another, but this should take precedence in my opinion.
I merely speak for the most active Secondary Fleet of the Liberty Navy - it is our hope the Primary Fleets (5th and 46th) would join in as well.
My initial thought was that Admiral of the Fleet Sir Jacob McIntire should be given the chance to organize the exercises, given that he is returning to the role and our Armada and Fleets may want to get accustomed to his leadership style as soon as possible.

Esteemed Admirals,
the Bretonian Armed Forces are standing ready to partake in a joint exercise again. I would be honoured to lead such an undertaking, should all sides agree on this. I would be more than happy if the primary Fleets of the Liberty Navy were to partake as well. I will inquire directly about their stance soon if we recieve no word from them here, this channel may not have come to their attention as of recently.

Esteemed allies of the Crown,
We wish to inform you that the Armed Forces of Bretonia will be undergoing several changes to the administration ranks as we seek to maintain the highest of standards in the Kingdom's military. We will, however, continue to actively participate and collaborate with our allies in the field so that our joint power may break our enemies' willingness to fight.
To that end, it is the desire of the Admiralty Board to request that the proposed military exercises be held starting next week's end, under supervision of the Armed Forces, as has been done in months past. We will await your reply on this submission.

Allied Administrations.
I believe we've come to an agreement on the time these exorcises take place, that leaves the matter of place. As I've suggested another nation host these exorcises, but I open the floor to suggestions. I will admit the Crayter system of Coronado host the most verity of environments for training, and may be most suited for it.

Esteemed allies of the Crown,
We are highly thankful of the progress made towards continuing the proud tradition of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bretonia and the Republics of Liberty and Crayter, respectively.
The training efforts will be led by Mr. Archibald Wigston, an Armed Forces Commander and the Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff. A further, set time, will be decided on-the-spot during next week's end, therefore we request that all relevant assets be relocated to Coronado in preparation for these maneuvers.
The Admiralty Board transmits its best hopes to the pilots that will participate in the military operations.
