its too late now since youre elbow deep in the POBs and their code, but having stations sell module and production space at a fee like EVE does (since we're taking their mechanics) would probably be miles less agonizing than worrying about destroyable structures and the screeching involved by the people who build and maintain them

Pre patch, the siege squad would kill a core 5 with 3x repair mats and shield in 2 hours and 15 minutes blank.
With the reduced regen on battleships and the limited window and increase repair rate, your base should have gotten marginalyl stronger
On the face of it, this will mostly affect smaller groups who bring 3-4 battleships at 1am european time and siege when the majority of the server population is asleep to avoid any confrontation.
EDIT: Would be nice if the multiplier was visible on infocard?
19.5m (old money)/1300 rounds of gunboat Siege ammo
Edit2: seems like 19.5-20.2m (old monet) for full load of ammo.... per ship involved...
Without multiplier data, its hard to tell how much damage they will do, but i recon you will need maybe 100m/ship in ammo to take a core 3??? and how many ships? 5? 10?.... so 500-1000mil (old money) to siege a base?
Hm, interesting. Something had to be done to the cancer that were POB sieges. Not sure this is it, but at least it's an attempt to break the status quo.
I'd keep two windows because that seems more fair to both the defenders and the siegers, especially if they are in totally different timezones.
Suggestion: make the ammo a bit cheaper but CD-able (maybe requiring two CDs to stop). That way smaller forces can still attempt to stall the siege, even against overwhelming numbers / skill difference.

Those are guns, not missiles, can't CD them. You can still bodyblock with your ship, however :]
