The new disco balance approach is slow drawn-out fights where you grind your opponents down, rather than big hits - we had 1.5hr cap battles etc.
Yeah.. got it. Superfighters apperently can't fire Novas any longer. Apperently insufficient powercore today, thus removing exhaust your enemy strategy.
And bombers can fire only one instead of two. Thus removing one lucky hit strategy.
That removes plausability of nova fighting suicial tactic almost completely.
Ergh... minus two newbie friendly ways to fight in snubs (are there any left?). Balancing somehow always happens towards professional snub-fighters, as if gap was not big enough :/
Anyway... easy solution to all those problems
Lets just to Caps events instead of snubs. Bless having an alternative As long as capitals remain protected against snubs, we can enjoy fights in snub-free environment.
Bad news, fighters will get anti cap weapons possible to be loaded
They say they will increase cap gun velocity- but newbies will just get slowly grinded to death by aces running around on fighters.

:/ Someone there really loves to be superman in a snub. Nerfing the last protection of us... newbies from professional snub fighters. The last bastion will fall. That's low.
Hopefully they will compensate it at least with strongly increased anti snub efficiency of guns for caps. Having them stronger, faster, preciser and more long ranged.. Doing smth like returning more gun slots in general will be great too.
Yeah they are supposed to hit snubs a lot easier - but you know how it is - the aces will not exactly be taken down by newbies, and you aren't immune from their fighters anymore
Entire balance is moving away from rock paper scissors and luck/instakill to drawn out chip damage and everything viable
The facts given here by those with more PvP experience than myself makes me want to create a ship with only Anti-Shield Weaps to more quickly wear out the Regen and Batts supplies? A couple of snubs up to GB's using this method could make a difference in larger battles?

My honest question to you though is why should the balance be down to luck/instakills? SNACs were quite frankly simply a tool for aces to win 1v10s, something which I honestly remain convinced would be worsened in the current meta when the aces now are significantly better than the aces 10 years ago, and double nova was simply a method to get neuron activation and remove anywhere between 1 and 5 people from a group fight simply because they didn't have eyes in the backs of their heads. I don't see how that promotes healthy gameplay.

Full deshield snubs are completely viable and are a part of some coordinated group fights yes

Removing luck = less chance for weaker people to get the good old win from time to time and have an incentive to enter fights vs stronger players and bigger numbers

Instead of relying on luck you could also go to conn more often and train, like all the PvP "aces" did.
But to get back on to the point, instakills are bad for the game, nobody feels good after getting instakilled while still having full regens.

At the same time i can see the merit of idea of One hit strike removal and making it all Chip Damage. space simulators flare well in this strategy.
The only little problem here that... Nova torpedo at superfighter was basically suicidal way for Chip damage. I think its removal is not justified within this convention of logic.
And that Chip damage by guns only makes snub aces completely invincible if they can't be just shot down. But with removal of looting nanobots and addition of missiles, this remedies this issue in major steps. People can take down... a single ace eventually now in reliable way
So.... in general it is kind of going to right direction with Chip Damage i guess? Just some bumps on the road towards it.
Or at least it feels like it is going into right direction if to extrapolate how other space simulators function in their battles.
If everything is Chip Damage with reliable way to harm oponents in snub fighters, and they have no means to stay invincible and grind through dozens of players. Then it is kind of what i imagine being a good way and similar to how Caps fight go. If just two newbie snub fighters can take on ace now and take ace down with very strong enough chance (instead of reliably just dying as it was before), then some kind of balance is achieved i would say.
