Yes, that's how it works. 2400 is already the doubled amount; on other ships, ore takes 2 cargo space per unit. 4800 would be 4x the effective cargo space.

This is what it's supposed to have according to the info.
The info is a little confusingly written, I guess.
It can carry the equivalent of 4800 cargo units of ore. Because ore takes 2 cargo space, that's 2400 units.

Your math is wrong and that doesn't make any sense. I'll just wait for confirmation from a dev/admin. I was told there will probably be a hot fix to fix the problem. It can hold 480 chirodebris which is 4800 cargo but not Niobium. It's also an 18 million credit ship that is a pain to build, it better carry 4800 ore or it's worthless.

It is a pob built ship the price is whatever the faction or player decide it. Also Karst's math is correct what are you talking about? A regular 5k ship fits 2500 ore on it the Archon fits 2400 of the same ore. And if you refine 2400 ore you get 4800 of the commodity that is probably why it is written like that.
I mean you're welcome to wait for a dev to tell you exactly the same thing lol
It can carry 480 Chirodebris because, like the Hegemon, it has a 0.5 cargo space multiplier on mineables, so Chirodebris takes 5 cargo instead of 10. 2400 / 5 = 480.

Chirodebris' override is 5 volume on the Hegemon and Archon instead of the original 10.
So yes. 2400 / 5 = 480
Niobium Ore as with other ores are 2 volume and overridden to have 1 volume for Hegemon and Archon (Class 14).
2400 / 1 = ???
If you have a non-class 14 ship with 4800 cargo space that holds Niobium Ore that takes 2 volume.

Ore volume = 2
Archon cargo volume = 2.400
Cargo volume divided by ore volume = 2.400/2 = 1.200 units of ore without bonuses
Heavy mining ship volume bonus on ores: (Ore volume/2) -> 2.400/(2/2) = 2.400 ore, which is 4.800 volume
I hope it makes sense. I believe the infocard believes ores have 1 volume, which in that case, is correct.
Replacing "units" with "volume" would do very well here.
Non of what anyone is saying makes sense, the Archon does what it says on the tin,
it says cargo 2400, you mine 2400, you trade anything it's 2400,
except Earhart as that's a different ball game & can/does change when the staff feel fit.
