...I don't even notice anymore to be honest. I'm not sticking around much longer, next thing you know they're going to say pirates can't tax through their home system, or we can't attack anyone at all because that would be PvP whoring.
As I said in the previous post...
' Wrote:What point is there to be a Pirate in this mod anymore? If anything the only reason we're still here is to get lolpwnt by the lawful factions, and if we win, suddenly we're PvP whoring.
They just have to make a request and provide the opportunity for the target to respond at some point.
The only problem I have seen is those who thrash you to within one gunshot of life and then ask for money and before you can type a response finish you off.
can someone update me in very short sentences whats about to change about pirating? - i haven t had any problems pirating in leeds on clover, nor did i have problems running my honshu > omega-49 traderoute.
of course i am not pirating in the pvp infested place like sigma-13, and my traderoute is a LONG route that is not too popular either. (+ when a pirate stops me and makes his demand, i simply stop... a whale without weapons, armour and a top shield is no match, and i don t mount that stuff - cause it makes no sense. - if the demand is reasonable, its payed without complaints, if the demand is beyone the reasonable line, - the pirate is offered part of the cargo... and if he is still not happy with it, he gets nothing ( for those pirates that go for something like 3 million or more - seeing that i make like 6 million / 30 minutes only )
but i m currently unaware of any changes to the piracy.
' Wrote:lets just lock the NB/Sig 13 and the Chugoku/Sig 13 jumpholes ... alleviates the whole problem. Wouldn't nerf the route ... would only force traders to take the "safe" trade lanes and keep them out of the "hazardous" open space.
Bad idea.
' Wrote:Put simply. This is against the rules. And its what we are trying to change. So what you did is exactly what can happen without breaching any form of written Discovery rule and risking a sanction.
Take him down to 1%.
Don't know what to do since I both pirate and trade.
Tinkerbell, for cyring out load. Would you stop it?
Most of the time we -have- to do such things, because else, most of the traders just go : "Lol, i jumped." or " lol, stupid pirate". We'd still like to get paid, and we try to make the RP as big a must as possible.
I have many pirate characters who earned together more than 400mil from pirating only
LH ones (4) which I'm not writing here
BD one -||-
Corsairs - only El.Matadore has pirated more than 10mil though
Red Hessian - 3, not telling
my Outcasts never pirated just smuggled and they are known
------------------------------------------------
Anyway what's the drama around here?
It's not a big problem to pirate, just pick time and place. Typing X mil or die is fast so no reason for you to get sanctioned.
If the trader goes ooRP etc he is violating the rules.. so it's him who should be reported.
The only thing that could be discussed is that traders can come to same system after they died/fled. Fled is ok in my opinion.. though it creates double standarts. Died is bad.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
The fact that "Halt" isn't a valid demand...When it is.
We can't stop traders profit by killing them when they refuse to pay. They are exempt from the PvP rule. (which is also dumb, does it even say that in the rules?)
We can't stop them verbally. And at the same time make a demand in RP (Which is hard) while they escape.
Seriously. If we ask the trader to stop, and they keep trying to cruise, we should be able to resort to taking their cargo for profit. Not to mention when they do cooperate they try and ween out of it, and F1 while your trying to RP. Its happened so many times, I don't bother reporting it anymore.
Pirates are trying to get one rule in their favor stating they are allowed to stop trader verbally, and its recognized as a valid demand.
Its just RP isn't it?
